Спорт

This video shows how to service the Penn 210 hi speed fishing reel. This reel is an upgrade from the 209 and shares some components with the Jigmaster.
I have been servicing fishing reels for over 20 years and am sharing my experiences here. If you enjoy the video, please like it and subscribe to see more.

    Great videos. I don't fish much saltwater but I'm strongly considering picking up a 210 for a catfish rig.

    Nice video! Now that I’m retired I thought I’d do a little fishing, I have the Penn 210 that I’m going to put some new line on… I’m thinking 30 pound braided, can you tell me off hand how many yards I should buy to fill it up? Thanks, really enjoy your videos, I’d be lost without them!

    I think your reel could take around 300 yers for the braid. You don't need that much, so I would fill the reel half way with mono line and then add the braid for the last half. It is more economical and no one ever gets to the bottom of the spool - Dennis

    Dennis do your self a favor. When you get a reel in with line on it. Take a piece of scotch tape to hold line in place on spool so there's no aggravation loose line being in your way. I hate to deal with that my self. It's cheap at dollar store.

    Thanks Michael. Every time I get one with line, the first thing I want to do is tear it off, but mot of these are not mine to do so. I tell the customers that the line has got to go, but they would rather take it fishing again and then tell the story of the one that broke off! Every now and then, I will tie the end to an elastic band and wrap it around the spool when I have it out. The customer can then clip the band and line up if they don't want to start with new line. Best wishes - Dennis

    I just redid a 210 that was in sad shape. It suffered the usual fate when they get abused. The idler gear was stripped and the worm and guide were removed leaving open holes for salt water to get inside. As is I am out one whole dollar and a couple of hours and it runs as good as new save for the missing parts. Mystic Parts does not have a listing for the 210. Am I right to assume that the missing parts are the same as a 209? It seems to me that the only differences are ball bearings and the Jigmaster gear set.

    You can use some of the 209 parts, but the 210 shows under the mag tuned category. This link should take you there www.mysticparts.com/PennParts/Penn210M.aspx

    Hello I am new subscriber and have learned a lot from your videos. I have a 209 that has been in its box for 30 years and this video has inspired me to get it out and bring it back to life. Quick question how do you upgrade a Mitchell 302N drag? Thanks!

    Dear sir I am new to this conventional reel I've always use spinning reels. What can a new conventional reel do that and no one can't

    The newer reels are lighter in weight and many have more max drag and higher speed retrieve with more ball bearings than the older ones. Both old and new are capable of pulling up big fish. The newer ones tend to cast easier due to the lighter weight and ball bearings. The older ones tend to last longer due to the materials and design. Thanks for asking - Dennis

    How much plastic is in that? Are those made in Pennsylvania?

  • @2ndChanceTackle

    @2ndChanceTackle

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes - these were made in Philadelphia. The only plastic is in the idler gear, which is the first to fail, but it actually saves additional damage if/when the reel hangs up and folks try to power cranck through it
