Leonardo Martinez yes it was. I’ve just watched a nearly two hour behind the scenes video. She did 95% of her own stunts and the first scene of her as CatWoman in the department store where she whips all the heads off the mannequins she did it in one take, no rehearsals or practice try’s Tim thought he’d have to edit each one together but she pulled the whole scene off in one take without missing a single head or messing up one bit.

Penguin doesn't take rejection very well.

There's a lot of things you notice while watching this gem over the years and one of them is the fact that the penguin always seems to have this vicious spittle pouring out his mouth like he can't help it. Truly a ravenous monster, my god devito was robbed at the Oscars he played this to perfection.

Well put! You pick up minor details with the passage of time and notice more subtle hints of humanity that creep into these well crafted characters. Note the slight concern for the Ice Princess when Catwoman points out "YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO SCARE HER." She didn't mind scheming with Penguin to use the model as bait for Batman. But killing her didn't seem like something Catwoman wanted to do. Nice measure of humanity thrown into that one line. Penguin, on the other hand, could give a damn who he kills to get revenge on a society that tossed him aside, literally!

The casting choices for this film are divine. Together, they created a gem that is widely admired for decades to come.

They casted the perfect actors for the roles!

she didn't sound all that upset to me. She helped him kidnap her, and thus became an accomplice in her murder. Batman let her off the hook because he was infatuated with her - allowing his hormones to cloud his judgment.

Apparently, Daniel Waters wrote The Ice Princess as stupid and unlikeable, so that we wouldn't feel too upset about her shocking demise. She was initially conceived off the back of an idea Daniel Waters had about a character falling to their death and landing on a switch that would release bats from a Christmas Tree. So, we're not meant to dwell too much on feeling sorry for her, but I suppose it at least humanises Catwoman to show that she still cares about the loss of 'innocent' life.

I never realized that Selina was disgusted by Penguin being a murderer. She’s all about vengeance and killing the people who deserve it, not innocent bystanders who got caught in the crossfire. I think if they had left the reveal in, it would have made more sense. The only thing they had in common was an enemy: max. She may be dark and crazy, but she’s not a deranged killer. .

She didn't think The Ice Princess was an 'innocent bystander'. If she did, why did she agree to kidnap her, why did she whip her, why did she drag her to the roof, and why was she okay with Penguin 'scaring' her. Death/murder is extreme, but clearly Catwoman believed The Ice Princess deserved some punishment, judging by her actions.

I disagree. The gotham version is better and acting and as well as the character. Not to mention its darker and more emotional and relatable. The gotham cast is way better the most the movies. Diffently better than nolan's batman movies. The show has better and better as the season continues and I was a hater of the show until I started watching season 3 by flipping the channel and I couldn't believe on what I been miss and how I judged season one without know it would become better as each episode comes. So I bought the entire seasons 1-3 watching the whole thing and loving eveybite of it that I bought season 4 and watched it as well as bought the full season 5 on Google play which take one day to come in after its been on tv. So I get to watch the episodes of season 5 anytime I want. It also Supports the show and cast by buying the season before it comes on blu ray and dvd. It's the best dc show to me.

Spencer Malley That nuances made Michelle's Catwoman more enjoyable for the audiences, than Anne's boring Catwoman.. Plus, Anne's performance was hardly believable as a Catwoman, compared to Michelle's performance which completely embodied the character of Catwoman..

I actually enjoy these versions of the characters quite a lot, there are so many versions of both of them, I'm glad we got to see Tim Burton's full vision for them without him having to cater to people who need everything to be faithful to the comics. Catwoman in particular is a fascinating character in Returns, she may be my favorite version of the character overall, though the comics have done interesting things with her of late.

The amount of unnecessary cat puns, love it hahaha.

@@davetherave3511 Honestly, this is way better than 1989. I love the Joker's outfit and costume but this is a MUCH better movie in my opinion. Batman 89 is not a good movie, in my opinion. Also Nicholson was a great Joker and Keaton Batman, but it's a theme park film while Batman returns is on another level for me. The Dark Knight surpasses them all. And I'm sure The Batman will be better than Batman Returns but that's only because of the Penguin's writing being odd (I think the Penguin IS a fascinating character and Davito and Burton helped make him that way in the comics)

I really appreciate the little things that would be easy now but probably hugely complicated then. Like that quick shot at the beginning down over the plaza. Probably a really tough composite of a set, mattes and miniatures. Plus getting the swooping search lights AND the bats flying through it all.
