We have had our PP130 for 6 years. We have had to replace the blower motor 2 times, igniter once and vacuumed switch once. Total repair cost over the 6 years has been $400. We have a 1750 sq foot 2 story house and it is our only heat sourcing the winter. We go through about 180 - 200 bags of pellets each year keeping the house between 70-72 degrees. We love it!

@@EdiblePlants I clean it at the beginning of the cold season (October) mainly for cobwebs, again in January and at the end of the season. I will be needing a new fire pit before next season. Mine is showing signs of wear. Slight cracks and warping. Check eBay I’m for parts. Some can be found on there cheaper. PelPro site will normally have the complete blower assembly cheaper than anywhere.

@@EdiblePlants There are two blowers. One is the convection blower that blows heat into the house. The other blower is the exhaust blower. It pulls air into the burn pot thru the intake tube in the back of the stove. Then the air exits the stove by first going thru the burn pot and then behind the 3 removable panels inside the stove. (Look inside the stove at the back wall and you will see the 3 panels) The middle panel has a tab you can grab and lift up to remove. Then the other two are also lifted up and removed. They require some maneuvering to remove them. The purpose of the 3 panels is for the hot air to move down/up/down the back of the panels to help heat the outer chamber. Ashes will build up behind the panels and clog up the air flow. You will need to remove the panels a couple times per winter and clean behind them. The middle panel is easy to know where it goes but the other 2 panels are different from on another and need to be placed back in their proper location. When looking from the front of the stove the RIGHT SIDE PANEL IS OPEN ON TOP AND CLOSED ON BOTTOM. The hot air flows down thru the top of that panel. Then the hot air crosses over to the middle panel and moves up. Then the hot air crosses over to the left panel and moves down. The LEFT PANEL IS CLOSED ON TOP AND OPEN ON BOTTOM. Then the hot air is pulled out of the stove by the same fan that pulled the intake air in. I say all this because if the exhaust air flow get restricted from ash buildup, it is hard on the exhaust fan and will burn up the motors more often. So keeping the stove panels clean will help a lot with heating and exhaust blower life. Also clean the exhaust pipe a couple times a winter. If the exhaust gets to restricted, the stove will stop working due to tripping vacuum switch. If the happens, just clean the stove, the panels and the pipe and it will work again. Now the convection fan is blowing the heat that is generated by the inner burn chamber. The convection fan will run at different speeds automatically. These convection fans are cheap and will start getting louder as time goes on. You will be wise to buy an extra convection fan and have it on hand. The cheapest place to buy these is from pelpro. I just bought one for less than $94 after shipping. You can get them on Amazon also but will pay about $20 more. Also buy an extra ignitor to keep on hand. I have a home depot shop vacuum and a clear vue cv06 mini cyclone dust separator to keep the stove clean without clogging the vacuum filters. You can also buy a Oneida dust deputy as Menards for small shop vacuums that works well. Without a good shop vacuum and a dust separator, you will be constantly clogging filters.

@@halfstep67 Call deal man that’s a lot of good info I do clean my stove quite often matter fact yesterday I pulled those three panels out and cleaned them Thoroughly also made a tool To fit down in the chamber where the air goes out so I can pull the ash to the front so I can vacuum it so I don’t have to pull the fan out you do get quite a bit of ash in there I have probably pull those panels out two times already this year and clean behind them I don’t know if I have to do them that often but that’s just the way I am I think it runs much better if you do a thorough cleaning job on it like you said airflow is the key

@@EdiblePlants I also rake the ashes to the edge of the chamber and vacuum it out. A lot of people don't know to clean behind the panels and they soon have problems. The pelpro stoves require a little more hands on maintenance than some of the more expensive pellet stoves but it doesn't take much effort and time to keep them running properly. The biggest complaint I have with a pellet stove is that the price of pellets keep going up every year or two and I wonder how long before they price themselves out of being an affordable heating source. Sometimes pellets can be hard to get during a snow or cold spell due to people panic buying and pellet hoarding. I try to buy pellets by the pallet but late in the year if I run out, I just buy as I need them so I don't have to store a bunch of them until next winter.

Pelpro is best stove we bought a king for our downstairs for $1000 and it's nothing in comparison mainly I like the pelpro has more room for ash and bigger tray and turns on and off on its own. Then king is manual control or high low with a thermostat but doesn't turn off.

Some pellets last longer, burn hotter with less ash. We can get some for $300 a pallet for the really good ones, $160 for the really crappy ones. We go with a medium grade that runs well in our PP130 that cost us $225 delivered. We normally have 10-15 bags left that we use for campfires or donate to a local pet sanctuary.
