Can you imagine what the Weapons director is feeling right now? Lost his actor over Marvel

I love Pedro, but I’m just not a fan of Marvel and Disney’s trend in casting, but they consider the hot actor of the moment for a major role. I want a great actor, but I also want someone that’s a good fit for the part.

I really like Pedro but I just don’t see it.

I auditioned for Reed Richards and got down to the final two against Pedro. He only got the roll because no one knew who I was!

Im not really happy with this casting. I know Pascal is a good actor. But I feel we've been too saturated by his appearances (remember, He did Kingsmen & WW3 too). If he doesn't play Reed vastly differetly than Mando & Joel.... i 100% feel we'll only see Pedro, not Reed Richards.

I love Pedro, but he does not seem like a good fit for Reed Richards to me and a lot of people are thinking the same thing. Plus, I dont want to see him being restricted and bogged down by Marvel for the next 10 years.

PP just doesn't look the part. He's short, has a dad bod, and was like the 3rd or 4th choice for the role after the other actors turned it down.

John Campea brings up a good point about what if it were John Krasinski + Emily Blunt VS. Pedro Pascal. The Fantastic Four is an ensemble at its core, and it's the chemistry of the ensemble that matters most rather than the individual roles.

This also means the announcement will be in comic con or d+ which are right before this goes into production

Sorry to break it to you John but I was cast to play Pedro Pascal playing Reed Richards!

Acting and look the part are important...1 out of 2.

Pedro Pascal could be playing the smartest man in the room in the MCU but it has yet to be confirmed that that man will be named Reed. It could easily be a man named Victor.

Pedro Pascal probably won’t play the villain. He’s way too hot right now to put as Doctor Doom and more likely, Marvel will wanna secure him for much much more stuff.

The new Mando movie is slated to film in Q3 also, isn't it?

Way more people DONT want to see him in that role than do.

Dr Doom?

This definitely could signal him being Reed Richards. My question is are there any other movies filming around the same time that aren't Fantastic Four that could potentially have Pedro Pascal in them? I ask because if there are it could be that he dropped out of Weapons for that movie instead of Fantastic Four, but if there aren't I would feel comfortable saying that Pedro is probably Reed Richards. Whatever the case, I feel like we'll be getting the official casting announcement relatively soon, especially if filming is going to potentially be in July. Also, with Fantastic Four moving filming dates, I wouldn't be surprised if we get announcements that it, as well as other MCU things in 2025, are moving to like 2026 or whatever.

Pedro is still doing the Horror Movie, he’s just pushing it to the side for F4.

This also coincides for when they will probably start shooting the mandalorian movie

but this wil beat the purpose having to introduce a young Fantastic 4 that can carry for many years to come

Where on earth did you hear that they were aiming for young? And what makes you think Pedro can't carry this franchise for the next ten years? Vincent D'onfrio is in his 60s and still going strong as Kingpin with no end in sight.

My thoughts too. Sometimes they cast people based upon prior roles and he wears a mask a lot in Mando, but on the other hand he said he doesn’t like that about it.

Won’t they be shooting Mandalorian movie during this time as well?

I suspect the film has a 'downer' ending. Set in a 1960s era, as it might be like Infinity War where Galactus wins and FF has to leave that world behind.

The only reason I'd disagree is Pedro is a naturally magnetic actor while Reed Richards always came across as cerebral, boring and honestly kind of lame as a powered being. He stretched, made himself a parachute, wrapped himself around stronger foes etc. At least back in the Stone Age when I read comics.

He’s yet to do something that i watch on the regular (I know about TLOU and Manderion, so I get over exposure). But I’m lokkkng forward to seeing him in this if he’s got it.

I disagree. No Pedro. He’s a good actor, but not as Reed Richard. The world is smaller when a movie studio uses the same actor over & over again in major Intellectual Property. (IP). Pedro is Pedro. Same goes for Samuel Jackson. Samuel is Samuel. Pass the torch to a new actor. A no name actor. However, if Pedro does get the part, I’m on board.

As much I like Pedro, he's still a miscast for the role. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Disaster waiting to happen. If you're not white, you don't get to be Reed. If you're blonde (and won't dye your hair), you don't get to be Batman. If you're skinny, you don't get to be the Hulk (bar CGI). If you're in a wheelchair, you don't get to be Superman. If you're as old as my 70 year old mother, you don't get to be Supergirl, I don't care how good an actor you are. Harrison Ford is a great actor, but he does not get to be Spiderman. Just being a great actor is not enough. You have to look the part too. Studios need to respect their characters and not just see them as money printing machines.
