Cool riffs. I really like how you get to the sound of the product and you get straight to the point. No wasting time with a bunch of nonsense. The way product review is supposed to be done. Good job.
I'm really glad that you show the post processing. it alleviates a lot of questions.
Can you shootout the piranha and the MH
Great video, short and to the point, covering the necessary information without a lot of lame chit chat. Thank you, very well done
I cant use your videos for reference when checking new gear, you just make everything sound amazing
Sounds very good to my ears, way better than expected
now I need to hear a demo with the matching Peavey 8" Pirahna Cab \m/

Richard, I use the Peavey Piranha w/ 6505 1x 8” cab playing an Ibanez RG “Genesis” and TS-9 overdrive pedal and it gives me what I want and need for my style of hard rock!#Peavey#🎸❤️@Richard Williams

8 inch cabs usually are very lacking and boxy sounding
I live by the motto "if it's Peavey, it's automatically good." It seems to hold up.
Good Demo! I found that little beast to be great for just that practice but it had to have the right cab or impulse to sound great.
While I think one of these could be handy to keep in your gig bag as a backup, I can't help but think anyone considering one for a bedroom practice amp would be better off with a Vypyr combo- they're cheap ($120 for 20w, $200 for 40w), the 6505/6534 sounds are really good, and you can do a whole lot more with them.
Long shot, I know, but is there any way you could do a mini amp / lunchbox amp shootout?

Awesome shirt! The Big Dirty is easily one of my favorite albums ever.
Been waiting for this! In my personal opinion; this lil' monster kills the shit! Great riffing btw Fluff. Cheers!
Good review. The amp seems very nice. Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹🎄
Hey Fluff. Excellent review as always. I have a chance to pick up a used one cheap. I was wondering if you think a fortin33 boost will clean some of that harshness up. I am only thinking about adding this little guy for fun. Have my gotos already. Thank you
Peavey Solid State gear kicks ass I know bought two Mega-Bass and two Headliner 410's. Looks like a great little amp to practice with.
Fluff that riff is crushing! Love it
actually I think it sounds good for 180 bucks.

The Cantrell Project thank you, I got one about two months ago and it sounds nice for being that cheap
Looks handy. Great backup. Great channel. I just started my own. Question: how often do you drain the battery/leave your camera on by mistake when recording your channel? I'm averaging...oh...every friken time.
Sounds pretty darn good for the price. In addition to bedroom practice it seems to be decent for some home demo recording. I also imagine you could run it in front of a big power amp if you did want to use it with a band.
That tune hits me right in the feels
that is such a tasty riff
Great demo. The amp sounds pretty good considering the price.
Any possibility of getting a run down of how you do your demos? I love them and want to know your process when it comes to doing these videos.
finally! I've been waiting for this, lol. thanks! p.s. sick shirt
It sounds amazing man! Im curious if you could hook this thing into a combo amp?
The tiniest little bit fuzzy... But it sounds great!!!
Hi Ryan Thanks for throwing up post eq picture. I notice u have quite a steep slope (48 db?) on ur low cut filter. do u commonly do this? thanks
Hi Fluff, Can it power or run through a 300 watts 4x12 amp? 8ohms
What about throwing a gate in the loop? I feel like that could take some of the fizz, or maybe an eq would work. The appeal with this amp to me is using it for a pre amp on something much cleaner.
1:40 Woah dude! How do you manage to play like that with just one hand!? Dope!!!
I was thinking of getting either this, a micro dark, or micro terror, which would you recommend?
Is there a reason you can't use it in a live setting? It's the same wattage as a Tiny terror and I've been to shows where someone uses it un mic'd and it was fine. Maybe an eq thing?
If you put stompboxes in effect loop , can you hear it through headphones out? how about aux in?
Idk what you were plugging this into fluff. But I have this plugged into my Peavy 1989 4x12 and it’s definitely able to play with a live band. In my bedroom I don’t turn it up past 1.5 because it gets so loud
Are you sure the "Aux in" goes thru the pre amp and power amp?
Hi Fluff, what kind of setup did you used for Two Notes Speaker mic ? Thanks,
what about amplifying the signal through the Poweramp of a different amplifier?
I'll be honest, I really don't mind the sound of this amp. In fact, I really like it! I'd be willing to pay more for a 3-band EQ with presence control, though. Maybe $350-$500. Thanks Fluff, you're the best!
Nice riffing!
So, the aux doesn't bypass the pre amp to stay clean?
have you ever thought of doing a guitar play through with different tunings on each guitar? For example one guitar would be in a half step down and the other would be in c sharp they would be at the same time in the mix.
nice riffs!!
Do you need an actual cab or can I plug into my interface and use IR's?
Things like that , the MP3 bypasses the gain and goes straight to the power amp. So it doesn't distort the music
They advertise running out of the FX send into a power amp for live use over 20 watts so for under $200 and your old amp you can have a 6505 tone as loud as you want.
dumb question do you NEED. a cab for this of can you use headphones?
What does Notch/Full translate to in terms of low/mid/high? Why couldn't they just add the traditional eq knobs?
Personally I'd love to see a 3 way "comparison" between a full blown 6505, 6505MH, & the 6505 Piranha.
Can you teach us that riff you were using? I really liked what you had.
I wonder if an OD in front would actually get rid of that little bit of fizz though... Although, probably not.
Killer shirt man
Sweet riff!
hey fluff, was the drive pedal on while the all playthrough ? Nice vidéo btw !
i think it sounds great - cutting thru the mix like a hot knife thru butter.
Would you recommend it for home recording on a budget?
Hi! It can be used without cab connection, only in headphones?

hi guys. what do you think,it will be ok for live?
Would be nice to hear this thing through the Powerampsection of a big 6505 and then compare.
killer jam this time fluff!
Hey Fluff! Great video! Quick question. How well do you think this would work as just a recording amp? thanks!

malachi nelson You might want to go with something else if that's the case. But, this kind of thing is about preference, really. If you like it and it sounds good with what you're using it for, go for it!
Any plans on reviewing the BUGERA T5 INFINIUM?
Your beard looks even better !
Would appreciate your opinion on this. I found one of these for about 120$ in great condition but I also have a friend willing to sell me a 150 watt Line 6 Spider 4 head for 100$ I'll be grabbing a cab soon to go with either of these but it'll have to be a cheap one. I'm not in a band ( but that could always change) and really only play in my room so the Peavey is extremely tempting for me because of it's size and low wattage with the ability of giving great tone at low volumes. Here is where it gets complicated. I'm using a Schecter Damien Platinum 8 string . Which of these amps would you recommend to go along with my guitar? Also do you have any idea on a good smaller sized amp in the lower budget department? I would prefer a 1x12 or 1x15 but i'm not opposed to a 2x12. 4x12 could be an option too if the price is right but i'm really wanting something that can handle an 8 string. Any help would be much appreciated !!!!! If you have any amps that you think would work better for me i'm cool with taking recommendations as well as long as it's under 200$ used is perfectly fine. Also if there is a specific pedal I could use to help out with my low budget rig that'd be awesome! I know i'm asking a lot out of such a small budget but i'm working with what i've got haha. Get back to me pretty please!
Hey man, I've been asking a lot of people this and I think it's because I'm a little obsessed. But what are your thoughts on the Line 6 Relay G10 Wireless system? I'm in the market for a new system and I'm really interested in an unbiased review of it.
Do you have any experience with the Orange Micro Dark? If so, which one do you think would be better for bedroom playing w/ a focus on more of a 'modern metal' sound? I currently have the Micro Dark and haven't been able to get any hi-gain sounds I like out of it (though, Pete Cotrell has a song that sounds awesome... so it's also possible I'm doing it wrong).

Joseph Donofry Get a good overdrive pedal to throw in front of it. That should help out quite a bit. Or get a used Boss Metal Core, and use that on the amp's clean.
I like that riff mang
I just got one to play with. While I won’t say I hate it, the tone is soooooo thin. It sounds like a little 5w beginner practice amp regardless of what I push it through (MB 412, Marshall 412, Bugera 412). I think this one will be on Reverb before the week is out.

Thanks for sharing, just saved me some money on something I don't really need anyways
Where did you get those brown baskets?
does it have any sort of direct out?
Could somebody please tell me what riff is that?
now, run it thru the fx loop on that 5150 back there and check it out at some decent wattage.
Picked up the head for $150 and paired it with my randall 2x12. Thing kicks ass
Anyone know of an affordable power amp I could get to use this life and be loud in a metal band?

Drystan Barnett micro dark it also has an 8 ohm output so you don’t have to find a 4 ohm cabinet
Please do a review of the Laney Ironheart mini preamp
This sounds like the Blackstar ID core but with less options
Sounds awesome
Waoh, that price point.... Still would grab a 6505mh or used version of its bigger brother instead, sounded on par with the older pv vypyr if we're talking price point
Beautiful guitar
Sounds great Fluff! But the 4k is strong with this one.
So, the orange micro dark has a better tone an EQ? Which of these two is better for playing metal?
@xXEmbracetheMetalXx

Pedro Gerardo García Zárate The micro dark is not real good for metal on it's own. Throw in a good overdrive pedal and you'll have a nice-sounding, inexpensive metal machine. ☺ I own the micro dark. It's good, but needs a little extra brutality!
@xXEmbracetheMetalXx

Pedro Gerardo García Zárate Hell, if you've got the $200, you could just purchase the EVH 5150 Overdrive pedal and use that over the clean on the amp. That pedal is a BEAST and will make you sound like a certified badass! I own that too.
Jezz, Fluff...I know that this little amps tend to fizz, but was a 5kh roll off really necessary? I mean, it's kinda scary :D

It sounds a little oversaturated with distortion to the point where distinguishing what's being played is kind of fuzzy. Other than that, very nice video
I originally got excited for this . but I figured it would be better to just try and find a used peavey tube amp. I found a triple X amp at a local pawn shop for $150 . 40 watts all tube with 3 channels . for less than the price of the piranha head . even if you can't find an amp foe that price I honestly think you're better off spending about $100- 150 more on a used peavey xxx or 6505 combo . if you look on guitar centers used section , Craigslist, eBay , you'll eventually find some for a great price
Could you demo the EVH 5153?
You actually can use this at a band jam but, I think you are going to need a 4 by 12 guitar cab and nothing less so you can move enough air. Also my band is only a 3 person band so me being the only guitar player with a bass and a drummer I was able to cut though the mix. If you were playing with another guitar player I don't think it would work out as well. I have played on all kinds of amps we often use a Marshall DSL 100 and I say that just to show I have other gear laying around that is much louder and this small amp does get the job done. My issue with this amp is for me though is it's not enough to play with as far as EQ and so on and I wish it had a real clean channel. I play metal so for a lot of songs this was not a big deal its just I do like to cut to some clean stuff for slower parts of some songs and this amp will not do this at a band level. It really only does one thing and I found it annoying that it did not take all my guitar pedals well. So all in all what Fluff said yeah I agree 99% this amp wont do band jams unless you are the only guitar player hooked into a 4 by 12 and want to do straight raw metal with little to no effects. The tone is not to bad and was better then solid state amps iv played but, forget about any gigs the tone is not that great including recordings unless you after some kind of experimental sound. As for a bedroom amp all the same things apply for the most part although you can clean the amp up some but, still forget about all your pedals working nice with this amp because they wont and the tone again is great but, is missing something once you played better amps. To me this amp is really just for the lol's because it's fun to play on a small amp because why not I find it hilarious and it's a cool conversation and experimental amp to have laying around and because it has only one sound and nothing to play with you can't really do anything wrong so its great to come up with riffs and ideas on the fly. Also my band did not always play together sometimes me and the bass player would just get to together and it was nice to not have to take all my gear just to go over some riffs. One day maybe theses small amps will be better but, for now I would not tell most people to go get one unless you found a good deal or have extra money to play with. And even though I was able to make this amp work for many of my songs with my band i'm going to be real guys save up and get something better. Word on the street has it that the Orange micro terror is louder then this amp so if you are looking for a amp like this and wanting to do band jams maybe but, I think that amp may have a lot of the same issues to me that this amp has but, don't take my word for it as iv not played that amp.
It is more versatile than Micro Dark, but tone wyse, I'd go with Orange.. Greetings from Brazil \m/
Killer riff!
Do you consider the Micro Dark to be a band practice amp?
@xXEmbracetheMetalXx
7 жыл бұрын
Chris Campbell Probably not. You'll want more wattage for that.
I don't like the tone much, but holy cow that was surprisingly versatile for 3 knobs. I didn't know it was just $179, that changes my perspective entirely.
What tuning are you using?
Gotta love that no matter the amp (or it's size), Fluff always gets his tone. It's pretty much a signature tone as I've never heard anyone who sounds even relatively the same. Plus, no 4K cut in the post EQ?, were you able to dial it out on the amp's EQ?, or did they voice it with a predetermined 4K cut?. Also, OD in the front?. I didn't notice one.
