I love how Pearl will let mobile homes get sold, but they won't let people set them up in town anymore and try to run off the ones that are already there. Also, seriously, you can't even tell that's a city with over 20,000 people living in it with how the majority of things of note in the city are concentrated around Pearson and Highway 49

@@astrahcat1212 that and the loosely regulated banking industry giving out obscene loans, which artificially inflated the cost of houses, as well as people using those loans to buy up a house to do superficial work on it to sell it at a profit or rent it out for a profit.

If I remember correctly this also happened again in 2020 a couple times. Maybe not always to the extent in those photos, but if you look up fema flood zone maps, that part of Pearl is in a flood zone.

@@LivingInJackson Meanwhile, down the street is a lower part of town, perfectly fine. No clue why that spot got it so bad... Still Pearl could stand to work on its drainage. That one neighborhood across the highway for the community college are pretty bad, but that's the most of the average bad flooding in Pearl. Everything else seems to be one-offs.

Its February 1, 2022. Ha ha, $2.21 for gas....i'll take it!!!! $3.09 in Lufkin Texas today.
