Although it seems the easiest way sometimes.

Always unfuckwithable! I expect to be able to see my first show once this pandemic is under control. I remind myself daily that the tour was postponed and not cancelled. I hope everyone is staying well and safe. Peace. Love. Pearl Jam.

Loved this song for so long. My 3rd child is called Pearl. Wasn't on our list, but just exploded onto my consciousness really early on in my pregnancy. I like to think the teenage me shouted to me into the future - "call her Pearl!" 😊

A dissident, a dissendent is here!!! A totally raw pearl jam great, this was a song they put they're heart into, hearing it, it gets inside of everyone's heart every time they hear it. A true vedder classic no doubt. I've always been crazy bout this one, I 'm still hearing it.

Great freaking lyrics. Not too heavy handed, yet tells a story that is vague but powerful, especially given the passionate vocal performance. It has an interesting subject, that is unique in a universe full of love songs. And at first i thought it might be about a relationship ending, or an unforgivable act, but in fact its much more interesting and deeper: A women tries to help a political fugitive, at first hiding him and somewhat reluctantly offering shelter for a night ("she nursed him there overnight, wasnt sure she wanted him to stay...) But than the next day reality sets in and ("at a quarter past)" fear overcomes her and she decides to turn him in to the authorities ("she had to turn around, she couldnt hold on, no she folded..a dissident is here") We need more songs like this that are about interesting things, and paint a picture without blatantly telling the story. Instead it drops little hints and lets the listener decipher the meaning. But there is one there. Too many songwriters use the crutch that the meaning is "up to the listener" and "it can be about whatever you want", "whatever meaning it has for you" and they leave it vague. But sometimes thats a cop out to just write words that mean nothing. I think a song like this is a great example of a song that IS about something, and DOES tell a story without hitting you over the head with details and storytelling. Its more poetic, trying to say a lot with few words. And it definitely conveys seriouse emotion; even if you arent aware of the background story you can feel the passion in the words. Thats what lead me to look up what Eddie Vedder was writing about. And when i reread the lyrics under that context i was blown away.

The healing powers of Pearl Jam! 💖 Such a cozy and uplifting little number! One of their best and one of my favorites. I'm loving all these uploads of unseen, at least pro-shot, footage from PJ! Even though this tour and that year ended up being the darkest one for them, there's still something so special about it, love this tour. Always listening to their 2000 stuff. Pearl Jam are with me everyday and are helping me immensely to have the energy to go on. They're going down as one of the best rock bands in history. I used to watch low quality videos from that European tour on Synergy website. It was only 1 minute long and awesome. Now to have this video quality from an entire track is just something else! You should release more like this or even a Touring Band 2000 - Europe Edition with these footages!! Thank you for this!!

First saw them at the maple leaf gardens in 96 been a jam head ever since and will be for the rest of my life this music and poetry makes it impossible to hate anyone, seventeen shows and counting.
