That’s why they put out a billion live records on Sony Music for all of the concerts they did in the early 2000 ‘s. They toured the world and put out a CD for every single concert, recorded in beautiful quality. I worked for the record label at the time and have a large majority of them (if not all)… I don’t know if you can still buy them, but all of them sound the same because they are ridiculously professional with how amazing and on point they are every night! I have seen so many live shows, and I think with the really well paid bands that most people know of, Pearl Jam and Radiohead are the top two best performers that are consistent every show (but unfortunately Eddie Vedder’s voice is not much good anymore, in the year 2021... no shame in that at all… He has been in the game for a very long time and put out so many solid shows that put most vocalists to absolute shame!).

  • @samout321

    4 ай бұрын

@@toddrichardson8595 Rock drumming is NOT about playing as many notes per second as you are capable of. It´s about how you feel the music, and you work for the whole. Jack didn´t accept that, and tried to be the most loud instrument at any cost, which shows total absence of this feeling. Just listen to the MTV unplugged - everyone in the band accepted this is acoustic concert, so the style of playing the instrument has to be different. Jack didn´t, he just smashed the drums like he was playing Maracana stadium, and murdered the whole performance (this is the one and only PJ concert I can´t listen to, simply because it´s completely ruined by the drummer). Or let´s put it this way - do you think that Ringo, Charlie Watts or Stuart Copeland are one of the greatest drummers of all time because they were loud, and played many notes? No, they just did exactly what whas needed to make Beatles, Stones and The Police music great. And that´s the point that has never crossed Jack Irons´s mind.

Yeah I hear you man... The energy Pearl Jam put out during the early 90s was amazing. I remeber when I first watched the Pinkpop concert they did...I was so blown away. But now they're still good but not even close to what they used to be

Seen PJ over 25 times around the US and Canada. They always sounded amazing and always threw in different songs and rare songs/b sides etc to keep it fresh for the ppl that followed them on tour. I can't say enough, still to this day, how blown away I am by them and how good they sounded throughout all these years. From a teenager to a grown ass man this is the one band that has been a constant in my life and im fucking grateful for it.

I'm a drummer of about 25 years, and used to cover them in high school in 92. Dave's playing was like lightning. The tempo was awesome and his timing and changes were amazing. I think PJ had an internal problem with Dave and they hired Jack. Jack kept them together, though his playing wasn't so good on the early stuff... very sloppy actually, but on this song he sounds good because PJ built it around his abilities. Matt is great on his own stuff, but not so much on Dave's or Jack's stuff.

Hunter Edmonds I don't know. I think Stone was happy with Ed from day 1. I think that's why they chose Ed: He brought all eyes to him, and he existed comfortably in the spotlight so the rest of the band could just make great music. Pearl Jam never seems like a band who cares much about who gets credit or who has the power. They are just good workers, and they like working together. I don't see jealousy or pettiness in their eyes.
