I see Pearl is using a cane in this set. Not sure if its a prop or something more. I had read somewhere that she suffered a heart attack in the early 1960s and am wondering if she was using the cane as both a prop and a measure for support. You also hear her mention in her song that shes "lost so much weight" which makes me think she had a health issue and some weight loss might be helpful.

That cane is merely a prop as the shoes wouldnt allow some with a problem to stand

Question: Was this a television broadcast? A kinescope? The reason I ask is because there wasn't much colour television in 1960, other than Bonanza. Great video, great singer! Thanks for sharing!

It’s an original color videotape. NBC was owned by RCA and they were promoting their new color sets in the late ‘50s by producing color content. The Dinah Shore Chevy Show was always broadcast “In Living Color” as they proudly announced at the beginning of each broadcast. Starting in late ‘58 with the introduction of color videotape these broadcasts were recorded. Some 25-30 years later NBC was going to destroy these large bulky tapes because they took up too much room but first offered them to Dinah and she bought them for around $15,000. NBC made the same offer to Andy Williams and Perry Como. Andy purchased his tapes but Perry declined, being satisfied with black and white kinescopes.
