You don’t necessarily trip out on morphine and opioids totally take away sexdrive while you’re on it, just from experience

My favorite line delivery in this movie is Pearl's mother saying, "When you fail- and you *will* fail-" and the rest doesn't matter. It's the certainty in her voice for me. It's like all of my self-struggles manifested into an actual voice. So chilling!

Mitzy’s death always makes me cringe so hard because she handled the situation so badly. For instance when Pearl brought up Mitzy getting the part she should’ve said something like “Girl no! I was too scared to try out! Remember when I made you go ahead of me? I got up there and chickened out, then I went outside and heard you crying!” That would have put her back in Pearl’s corner instead of playing into her jealousy. Oh and that ending with the neverending smile? I had very recently seen the movie Smile maybe a few weeks before I saw Pearl. It was one of the few movies to make me feel scared. Anyway that final scene terrified me in a way it wasn’t even intended to. 😳🤣 Great reaction as always guys! 🤗🤗 Great film!

Also the mum was giving Carries mum, “you will fail” reminded me of “they’re all going to laugh at you!” Although I think Pearls mum isn’t crazy like Mrs White but that moment reminded me of Carrie. Just got to the point in the video where you point out the Carrie vibes ! 🤣

I love the Wizard of Oz vibes in this. Might be a reach but the projectionist is scarecrow or the scarecrow is quite literally scarecrow and the projectionist is the wizard of Oz due to him being wise and giving advise. dad could be Tin man due to him being frozen and then the sister in law is cowardly lion 🤣 and Pearl gives Dorothy when she’s in the dungarees but then when she is in the red dress with the bike it’s like the Wicked Witch when she’s the neighbour riding over to Dorothy’s house

Pearls mom isn't trying to squash her dreams to be mean. Because the dad is disabled, the mom would be left to run the farm AND care for the dad alone if Pearl was gone. She NEEDS Pearl's help - there is no-one else - Pearl is her only family, they are immigrants from Germany. There's no one else. Why would she encourage her only child to leave under these circumstances? How would the mom survive? It's not fair, but their situation requires them to work hard and sacrifice. They have no choice

I wish a man would look at me the way Pearl looked st that scarecrow

what an iconic landmark 300th video

The actress who plays Pearl's mother was the intimacy co-ordinator on X (She is also a respected actress in New Zealand). When Ti West and Mia Goth got permission from A24 to do a sequel to X they just asked her to stay around and appear in it. She agreed and started learning German.

If you like the opening score and credits to Pearl, you should watch Far From Heaven. It’s soooo reminiscent to the opening of Pearl. It’s glorious 1950’s melodrama camp starring Julianne Moore & Dennis Quaid. Comparing/contrasting the stigma, taboo, discrimination of being gay vs being black in the 50’s. The costume, set design, and luscious overacting camp from the cast are mesmerizing.

No bc this is the best horror movie of the decade so far and I’m not kidding

I love the score to this movie! It's breathtaking. I can easily see why some people like Pearl better than X. I love both. I don't like her mother at all. Being strict is understandable enough, but she never says anything nice to Pearl at all. All she ever does it bitch at her and punish her. I don't feel bad for her at all. I feel bad for the dad, though.

Especially since she knew Pearl was so off, she could have been strict, but let that girl know she loved her. Being treated harshly messed Pearl up even more. I don't blame the Mom for not knowing what to do about Pearl. They were immigrants, and it was the time period. But she could have been kinder.

I LOVE X as a horror movie with all my heart, but Pearl is just... something else. This one is definitely for the gays!!

I enjoyed the movie, and the actress gave a great performance. But as the movie developed further I found Pearl to be annoying, entitled, weak, talentless, and insufferable.
