Campbell was always creepy!! For me, I always felt weird with his "fatherly love"... There was too much lingering everytime he talked with her or look at her or as she said touch her.... Even though he's a friend of her father and onetime claimed to think of her as her daughter I never really bought into it....his behaviour was kinda off.... So I didn't feel this was written at the last minute, clues were there all along!!! Maybe it's becos you guys took breaks between episodes, cos you remember what he said not specifically how he acted.....just my thoughts!!

Yeah its creepy a few times I thought there would be a twist where her father never died but Campbell was her actual father, that's how fatherly he was
It's so cringeworthy when some of these guys talk so matter of factly about how things have been written when they've spent the past episodes missing all of the hints and foreshadowing. His mannerisms towards her were well telegraphed, albeit with some degree of subtlety.

Watching Peaky Blinders for the first time and yeah - he's my favourite character. Incredible performance by the actor as well. When he got the rope out I felt angry with the writers. I can't see him lasting too much longer though to be honest, but please don't spoil it for me.

Its so fucked that netflix hired someone to write the song that played during that scene and then bought the rights to the song so it would never be played anywhere else. It's such a fucking incredible piece of music but netflix is hoggin it. Fucking bastards.
I always had the impression that Campbell was crushing on Grace. Yes, you get a sense that he was protective of her which can be interpreted as being fatherly, but I always thought that he was going to flip his shit if she and Tommy got into a relationship. Also, very few fathers would send their daughters in to infiltrate an organized crime group with the chance that she might need to have sex with one of more of the members.
Hannah was about to loose it @ 23:40 just before the rope broke. I felt the same way when I watched this episode for the first time because I love Arthur Shelby and was not ready not lose him. Especially not like _that._ Although he's the eldest brother he has a childlike innocence and naivety about him which makes him so endearing. As Hannah said, all he wanted was his fathers love but when he was denied that and because he finds it difficult to process his emotions he no doubt found the rejection too overwhelming. I was so relieved when that rope broke. I'm so glad The Normies are watching this show and am loving the post episode discussions. Hannah and Ben seem to have a great grasp of the characters and their motives and the potential ramifications of the events in the episode. Really looking forward to the season finale. See You Next Tuesday!
I always felt like Campbell was a creep personally, I didn't feel it was fatherly I thought it was always more.
I like how you used every bit of footage possible for this reaction, its so hard to get everything good for this show with it being an hour, so i like the no visual, but audio thing you got going. Thanks, excited for next week!!!

*Sam Neill* is from *Northern Ireland.* He was born and raised there until he was 7yo, which was when his family moved to *New Zealand.*
I don't think that Tommy Flanagan had a criminal background before becoming an actor. He was attacked by someone outside of a bar he was DJ'ing at and they cut his face up. After that he has been type cast due to his scars and generally being a badass Scot.
Tommy Flanagan, the actor who plays they're dad got the Glasgow smile, was given a Glasgow smile when he was attacked outside a bar in Scotland. A Glasgow smile (also known as a Chelsea smile, or a Glasgow, Chelsea or Cheshire grin) is a wound caused by making a cut from the corners of a victim's mouth up to the ears, leaving a scar in the shape of a smile
6:30 he lived in a very rough neighborhood when growing up and one time he got mugged badly which is how he got those scars
You guys gonna watch the second season right after this?
One of my favorite episodes in the hole series so much deep, story lines. With the cop finding the guns to Author and his dad great episode
Naming all the K sounding C words to himself has me dying 😂😂
I watched this episode alone, and yelled when he asked her to marry him. As soon as the fruit loop started talking about how the rules permitted this and that, I knew some freaky shit was coming. LOL Keep these coming normies!!
I saw all the signs - how he looked at her and touched her warned her etc - I knew from almost right way he had a thing for her - I knew he was gonna ask to be with her or kiss or something as soon as he said Im no longer your superior officer
Arthur in this episode broke my heart.
lol, idk why Campbell is being called a "creep" so loosely. Back in the day people with that age range got married quite often. People didn't have the internet nor did they move around as much as we do, so their options were more limited. You can't really look at historical interactions through a modern bias. His character was more of a hypocritical white knight.
Tommy Flanagan (who plays the dad and was on SOA) got his scars after being attacked during a knife fight at a night club where he worked as a DJ.
I can't wait for you guys to react to the season 4 finale it's simply beautiful, one of the best episodes of a show I've ever seen and I've watched alott of shows😂
I don’t think the Campbell thing is weird at all. Just because he outwardly shows extreme religiosity doesn’t mean his actions necessarily have to match. In fact, it’s often the most religious people who are the most sinful (according to their definition). It’s sort of a ‘protest too much situation’ ...he’s dark as fuck inside so tries to cover that up with doing work for God. In actuality he’s just an angry, vengeful man. I don’t think that’s bad writing or going against previously laid out character development. I think it’s complexity.

@@sammynanji5516 He said it, he was lying, he was using it as an excuse to approach her and make her trust him. We're not the fucked up ones, it's Campbell
One of my observations watching people react to media is the readiness to look for an enemy or a villain. Not to come down hard on the viewers just an observation. Grace is one such example in that she is a character written to be an obstacle for the protagonist. But in watching the show she always felt exceedingly human. She had a job (cop), she had personal beef (IRA), she had doubts (Tommy). Those things existed at the same time and informed the other parts of her in different doses at different moments. It's easy to read media characters in their "roles", but so many people are trying to write realistic and nuanced characters who are not completely logical and who don't behave entirely logically to the role they have been assigned, aka: they are people. I say this all as a fan of your channel and reactions and honestly this is just this video that caused me to talk about a complaint I've had for a long time. You are by no means the worst offenders but it just baffles me how ready an audience is to condemn someone because they fit the villain roll at any given moment in the given situation. Also to be clear, my frustration with this is entirely film/tv based (these roles are written in this manor for an ultimate reason) because the real world has real consequences that should absolutely mean something and convey a point
The Peaky Crew are doing a great job. Love you guys!
I absolutely loved this episode, Campbell was always weirdly attracted to Grace from the mannerisms in previous episodes if you noticed like Hannah did, I hate his character though 😩 I conflicted with Grace a lot but ended up loving her with Tommy, they actually have a lot of similarities that’s why I liked them. Arthur trying to kill himself was so emotional 😭 they’re father is a dick. Season finale is pretty good, but it get even better season 2,3 and 4. They get crazier and just better 😊
Chibs in Sons of Anarchy helped Juice when he failed to commit suicide by hanging. Arthur Sr. was the one who drove Arthur to commit suicide but it failed. 🤔 Tommy Flanagan is an amazing actor!
I CAN'T wait till you guys get deeper into this series just gets better.
Well, I guess I'm way behind on this one. But they didn't just come out of nowhere with Campbell's love for the barmaid. I saw the body language from the beginning as well. And when you look at it as someone from the time period oh, it's not so uncommon. It is admittedly cringy that it occurred, but it was often the practice for older men to marry much younger women.
Campbell's been creepy since the begining. You guys watching a different version or something?
Laughed at their reaction of the kid getting booze, that it was like that back in the day. Meanwhile in Portugal my dad gave me beer when i was 2 and a traditional type of vodka (Aguardente) when I was 6 in an espresso

Love these reactions. Oh, the kid is drinking beer because the water was so polluted back in the day that beer was the cleanest alternative so most people, children included just drank beer :D
Awly sheit it's the Peeky fooking Blindas
The Irish actor talking to tommy in the pub about the guns he’s called Tom Vaughn lawor are top Irish actor. also he plays ebony in avengers inifity war 🇮🇪👌🏻@thenormies
The shirt collars are paper collars and could be changed as many times as necessary so they would always have clean collars and cuffs which were also detachable.
Can we not have so much time between episodes?
is there a place i can watch all the non-listed peaky blinders reacntions?
You guys should really watch Love/Hate, its an Irish gangland show. The Irish guy who visits Tommy about the guns plays the main character. Its great
So funny to see there thought on how Campbell feels about Grace...

Fun Fact: Most people in the *UK and Ireland* know him as *Nidge* from *Love/Hate.* Five more actors from *Love/Hate* are also in *Peaky Blinders,* along with six crew members. Practically the entire cast of *Love/Hate* seem to be constantly in the same films and TV shows as each other. Whenever you see one *Love/Hate* actor in a film or TV show, you can almost guarantee there will be at least another one or two *Love/Hate* actors in the same film or TV show.
“Campbell sees her as a daughter” 😂😂
AT 21:15 was i the only one who thought that was a sound from a puppy and not a stretching sound from micky
Bro... "Tommy's brother DANNY got married in that shotgun marriage!" "Oh and EDDY got carried off to jail!" Man these guys are... wow 😂 Why watch 4 out of 6 episodes of the first season, then not watch the show for weeks... you'll have obviously forgotten about everything by then since y'all seem to suffer from horrible memory. 🤣 EDIT: Also, like other commenters have mentioned, just because *you* haven't been paying attention to the show cuz you're too busy joking and talking over the show when it explains HUGE plot points and when they REPEATEDLY hint at certain future plot points, doesn't mean they've just been "thrown" into the show to keep the story flowing. Ya muppet. You missed the memo, specifically Micky btw, because you didn't pay attention. Sorry for being harsh, but it's the truth. :P

Back in those days children were often given beer due to the poor higine conditions of regular water; beer was cleaner, therefore "healthier" for children to drink than water.

Not entirely sure what is so cringy about a man falling for an attractive woman. Age gap relationships are very common now, even more so then; guessing it's because he's male, he'd be a couger otherwise.
