Peak Rail Cab Ride On D7659

Another touch of nostalgia from my footplate time in the 1960's. After realising some time ago that my records show that I'd actually worked on this BR AEI/Sulzer Type 2 when she was a 'mere child' (born July 1966).
Having discussed this fact with Mark Sealey (Gen Manager) and Martyn Adshead the custodian and driver of D7659 they very kindly allowed me to ride with them and film the line during this gala weekend.
I think Barney (Marks 'owner') pulled a few strings for me because we too are now good friends..... Cheers, Barney!!
Anyway, the culmination of a great weekend in the Derbyshire Dales with steam & green diesels and in good company.
Well done everyone, here's to the next time.

Glad you enjoyed my trip Rob, it is a lovely railway in great countryside and yes, spent many hours on these locos which I enjoyed. Cheers, Brian.

I've never seen the whole line at Peak Rail Brian, it's beautiful all along it's route, and the standard of the Per Way is outstanding, a credit to them. A splendid piece of work during your visit, and a thoroughly enjoyable watch...Best Wishes....Bob

Another scoop Brian and always useful for people attending the railway to identify photographic opportunities. Regards, John

I guess you could say that John and it was quite special for me. A very accessible line and the path only deviates in a few spots over the four miles...... you can borrow my bike!! Regards, Brian.
