PEAK PILGRIMAGE | PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK | HIKING | CAMPING | MULTI-DAY TRAIL

The Peak Pilgrimage, 35 miles over three days, exploring the dales in the glorious Peak District National Park. Starting in Ilam and finishing in Eyam.
For a guidebook on this pilgrimage please follow the link below:
www.peakpilgrimage.org.uk/gui...
This is part one of three. Steph and I started from the quaint church in Ilam, Staffordshire. Following the gentle River Dove up to Milldale where we stopped for lunch. Later climbed up to Alstonefield and then back down into Wolfscote Dale towards Hartington. Hartington is the official finishing point for the first section of this walk, however, we couldn't get into the campsite at Hartington YHA and continued to the next village of Biggin, where we stayed for one night at the Waterloo Inn, very cheap and served hot meals. We collected stamps and stickers from all the churches we passed.
My friend Steph is also a content creator, please consider visiting her channel and subbing. Thank you.

    Ey up me duck. Enjoyed watching as always. I remember the last time I was at the stepping stones, you're not wrong about the rock being slippy. Came out of one of the caves and slipped over, lol. So glad to see Night Cat have finally gotten rid of their Hello Kitty emblem, lol Anyroad, looking forward to the next installment, ay a good'un👍🙂

    What a superb starting point, I love those old traditional churches. Looked a nice trail to follow with plenty of interest too, with the stepping stones, Dovedale Holes and a great (sock gate apart) stop off at Milldale too. I liked the sound of self service refreshments at St Peters mind, which was just as well with The George being closed. After that steep climb I hope you did actually manage to get your half of shandy 😁and another really nice church but brilliant to see your half magically turned into a full pint! At least the rain kept off till you got your tents pitched up, cheers Alan

    Hi Chris, it’s the first time I’ve done this pilgrimage, the Peak Pilgrimage and Hope Pilgrimage are totally different routes from each other but both finish in Eyam. I have done sections of this before such as Dovedale to Milldale 😊 and up to the top of Thorp Cloud.

    Even though I ate a camp meal, we had a second dinner in the pub which was nice. It felt like an old fashioned pub, not one of these new trendy ones. It had character. X

    Hi Rachel, looks like you had another great hike, I've not been subscribed long so catching up on a lot of your other videos. I bought the exact same tent, actually I bought a Lanshan 1 & a Langshan 2 but from a different supplier (collinsoutdoors) I know they're all made in China and when I got mine the instructions said I had to seam seal them before using them, they did come with a tube of seam sealer and I did seal them but I'm just curios if you seam sealed yours and if you didn't did it leak.

  • @ramblingracheltrailtales

    @ramblingracheltrailtales

    7 ай бұрын

    Hi, funny you should mention the seam sealing, I’ve done it today. Draped the tent over a few chairs and sealed the guy out points only. It did rain the last time I used it and it didn’t leak. So far, it’s turning out to be a good little tent for its price range. I’m hoping to get a camp in before the years out. My friend Steph has a Lanshan 1, not much difference at all apart from the branding.

    @@ramblingracheltrailtales Same here, I usually go Christmas eve for 2 nights and come back Boxing day, I just wonder round the Peak District but not sure what the weathers going to be like this year, apparently 9 inch of snow as been mentioned and if does come and gets that deep it'll put a spanner in the works as the roads won't be accessible (about 50 miles for me) and the trains won't be running, anyway have a good Christmas, atb.
