Looking for the best duffel bag out there?
Peak Design's Travel Duffelpack 65L and Travel Duffel 35L are some of the most innovative and hyped duffel bags available today - but do they actually live up to that hype are all those innovations actually convenient in real life use? In this full review I show you most of the features of these duffels and walk you through all of their strengths and weaknesses.
Disclaimer: I was sent some review units to try out but I'm paying for the ones I'm keeping. I'm not being paid to say any of this so anything you hear is 100% my own honest opinion.

    I think the 65l duffelpack is an ideal second bag for me. I am building a reputation as a filmmaker and will hopefully have the opportunity to travel soon. The duffelpack would hold some of my more durable equipment like tripods and small light stands, batteries, and then my travel essentials. I could check it and my Tenba Roadie could go with me as my carry on and hold all of my cameras, lenses, and audio equipment. Then on local shoots when I need more gear than the Roadie can hold, I can pack everything into the PD bag using the Tenba Toolboxes I already own. I'm really excited about finding this and I appreciate your review!

    Thanks, will take note and cover in the future videos! The 35L has no issues at all as a carry-on, have used it on almost all filights I have taken during the last few years. The 65L can be compressed with the straps to fit carry-on dimensions but is definitely too big if you fill it up with lots of stuff. But it's good to know it can be done and I have indeed used it as a carry-on but only once. The 35L is much more ideal because of the size and more convenient side pockets etc.

  • @Adventuregrapher

    @Adventuregrapher

    4 жыл бұрын

    Blåkläder is probably quite difficoult to get depending on where you are based. But the jacket I'm folding down is also an excellent and versatile ultralight outdoor jacket. It's from Rab, which is a brand more available almost anywhere in the world. The exact model is probably not available anymore but I can recommend almost anything that has Pertex Equilibrium fabric as the outer shell. Lol, it's starting to seem that I need to start doing clothing reviews next :D Hope this helps!

  • @Adventuregrapher

    @Adventuregrapher

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Chris, sorry for missing your comment earlier! I don't actually own the travel backpack but I'm still quite familiar with it's features based on videos and other PD products. The main differences are that the Travel Backpack has way more organization options including a laptop compartment and several more pockets while the Travel Duffel has bigger carrying capacity. So if 45L is enough for you and you want to carry many smallish everyday items and have fast access to them, the Travel Backpack is the way to go! However, if you are more simply carrying lots of stuff from point A to point B, the Travel Duffel is a winner. You can fit all of your clothes or a huge amount of camera gear in this bag, certainly more than the Travel Backpack can accommodate :)

    It is strong enough and can be used, I have even done it multiple times. It's very good for the 35 Duffel (which has it's own strap anyway though) but the 65L PD Duffelpack doesn't feel very natural to use with any strap, it just feels a bit awkwardly balanced with one. But I have attached some PD anchors to many many non PD bags and items and quite regularly use the slide to carry them.

    Adventuregrapher thank you! I’ve heard some conflicting answers on amazon answers. I was hoping to bring this along with my peak design travel backpack on a plane. I only plan on putting a medium camera packing cube and wash pouch in it at the very most. I know my 30L PD everyday backpack fits pretty snug, but always fits. Not sure if you know how it compares to that?

  • @Adventuregrapher

    @Adventuregrapher

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@GoodcoStudios No problem! I do own the 20L and 30L everyday backpacks (See my review here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGZ2xcircZDVj6w.html) so I can quite assertively say the 35L Duffel has very similar dimensions to the 30L Everyday Backpack. Even with a camera cube inside it's a tiny bit lower than the 30L so it fits under lower seats more easily. It's, however, also a tiny bit wider than the 30L but that shouldn't be a problem either since the difference really is marginal. So just as with the 30L, the fit might be a bit tight in smaller planes but it should pretty much always fit anyway! I hope this helps :)

    I have and love the 65L for travel and IMO it’s way too big for a gym bag (assuming you have the same change of clothes, shoes and towel as most people). It’s floppy when not reasonably packed out, and it wouldn’t be anywhere near packed out with a typical gym load. Honestly the 65L isn’t a “daily” anything 🙂 Would you daily a 45L rucksack? Because that’s what it is in its “compressed” form.
