    Hi Kelli!! I love your videos, it blesses me every time I watch it ❤ I recently discovered about canning and still doing research on it, honestly I'm a bit nervous to try it out but i know i need to start at some point. Can you please do a video about canning? Specifically for beginners? How did you start canning and the benefits of canning, etc. Thank you so much! Have a Blessed Day! ❤❤❤

    Hi! I'm so thankful you are enjoying the videos, thank you for your encouragement with them. Next time I can something, I will video and walk through it, how I learned and why I can. Thank you for the idea. A great resource is the Ball Canning book- it is sooo helpful! And Jill Wingers blog is another great reference for canning! God bless you and your journey with homemaking!

    You are so clever to use jute twine to fix your trash can lid. You just gave me the idea to use twine instead of thread to fix my jute rug. Thank you!! ❤

    Your property by the water is indeed so peaceful and a beautiful space to spend time. I’m curious about the jajoba oil and how you’re using it on your face? Are you diluting it in any way or just dabbing it with a cloth and then directly onto your face? I’ve used jajoba oil in a lotion before but not straight out of the bottle. Seems like it would be a good replacement for the makeup remover I use.

    Thank you Cheryl, I hope you had a good Labor Day weekend! And yes, with the jojoba, I don't dilute it. First I use it to get my makeup off. I wet my face, then apply about a dime to nickel sized amount and gently rub it all over my face. Then I soak a wash cloth with warm water to get all the makeup off my face. Then I put another small amount of jojoba on my face again massaging it in. This time rinsing with water (I know oil and water don't mix, but just to wash some of it off) then pat my face dry with a towel. But yes, it is wonderful for taking off makeup!!

    @@homewithkelli We had a slow holiday weekend. Our granddaughter had her 10th bday and otherwise it was just being at home which is nice too! The face washing routine sounds refreshing. I don’t always wear makeup but when I do, I try to wash my face well. I still use commercial products for hair, makeup etc but am doing some pre preparing and purchasing products to start making some things at home. Thank you for the videos, you are a blessing and an encouragement to this ‘Grammy’!

    Where do I get the ingredients from for the homemade vanilla again? The vodka & vanilla beans? Love your videos

    Hey Kayce! There are many options for places to get vanilla- Azure, Essential Organics, are just two options. And vodka you can get from your local bottle shop, that's where I get mine.

    Where did you learn everything about gardening, apothecary, etc?

  • @homewithkelli

    @homewithkelli

    Well, gardening has been a lot of trial and error! I look up things as the need comes up. But for me, I learn best by just winging it and giving it a try and seeing how it works- then adjusting! Apothecary, I got into from listening to a Mother Earth News podcast with Dawn Combs about fertility. I bought several of her books- "conceiving healthy babies" and "heal Local" I love both of these so much! I also bought Rosemary Gladstars herbal course "The art and science of Herbalism" ... that being said, I don't recommend herbal courses. It's a lot of money for a lot of information and you end up putting more time into studying than actually doing the thing like planting herbs, growing them, seeing what works for you, what doesn't. The best way I think is to get a really good herb book (again I like Heal Local for this because she covers all the basics and gives LOTS of recipes) for a fraction of the price. Then you can look up recipes on an as needed basis (there is so many free resources on herbalism on the internet) and actually DO the stuff instead of just consuming info about it. I hope that makes sense!

    Learned quite a few things from you. A couple questions though... what are the benefits to Cream of Tartar? That was interesting you put it in your drink. Secondly, where do you purchase your vanilla beans?

    Yes, the cream of tartar is a good source for potassium! And I've gotten the vanilla from azure and essential organics
