PE Design 11 Tutorial - Episode 4: PhotoStitch

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I'm covering Brothers PhotoStitch method in this weeks video! Something a little less involved and a bit more beginner friendly!
I haven't forgotten about all of your comments of what you'd like to see and am currently working on a more in depth manual digitizing tutorial as we speak. It's taking me a while, so I decided to drop this video as it is easier to produce.

Next video will be more of an intermediate digitizing tutorial from scratch that includes a lot of what I've been asked for in the comments. I hope you all managed to learn maybe a thing or two that you didn't before this video, at least! Let me know 👇

Thank you SO MUCH esp covering why the post-wizard preview looked so much darker than the wizard - I thought I'd broken something and nowhere else even mentioned it! Massive help, can't wait to try it!

Excellent video! You make it so easy to understand. I love photo stitch and use it alot. I have found that to get a better idea of how it will look stitched out, I save it and then view it using the preview option in design database. It actually gives a more "realistic" preview than you get in layout and editing for this particular process.

Can we set an auto-trim in PE design where it'll cut the threads before jumping to another area of the embroidery? I have a lot of jump stitches to clean up afterwards. Also, in a further video, can you explain the different changes you can make in the expert area? I'm talking about where it has pitch and density and all that stuff. I have a basic understanding of it, but seeing solid examples or getting explained it might give me the awareness I need. Thanks and your videos have been awesome so far.

Maybe a dumb question, but I'm kind of new to embroidery: I'm looking to acquire PE 11, but I can't seem to find a legitimate place to purchase? I see on the Brother website that a download is available for all levels and that the only differences are passkeys that i'm assuming are for purchase through retailers (if I'm understanding correctly). But then I've found sellers on etsy selling what they call the software for around $7/$8, and I've also found random sewing outlets online selling, allegedly, the same thing for $1000+. So, i'm confused on what's being bought/sold/where to actually acquire the software 😅 Any advice would be greatly apprecaited lol 😂

Good morning! I can see how it can be quite confusing, haha. So Brother should have a list of registered dealers near you & they will sell the software licence keys. And sadly you're right about the pricing, they are $1000+. the only way to get it any cheaper is if you buy it with an embroidery machine, then the dealer is authorized to sell it at basically half price (at least over here in the UK). I have also seen these etsy keys, but I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw them. I have downloaded a copy before on a spare laptop (that i have used for PE Design 11 a lot in the past) and although it seemed to run, it had terrible performance (pausing every time I placed a shape down or even a line for up to a minute at a time) and i wouldn't be surprised if there was malicious code involved as when I uninstalled the software and re-installed my legit version it still ran the same! No matter what I've done since then (including deleting all reference of it from my registry files/app data). I have contacted Brother about them since and they are looking into it I believe. Long story short, I would always buy the legit version from your local dealer as brutal as the price seems, it's worth having a version that is actually usable (and not malware 😂)
