A lot of steps not shown, for example lamination of photoresist, developing of photoresist and solder resist, solder resist curing. Final finish application. Most European manufacturers do not panel plate after electroless copper (pth process) , but pattern plate the image after exposure. Multilayer PCBs go through many processes more than shown. PCB manufacturing is definitely a complex and skilled process, and requires a huge amount of initial investment in equipment and skills. I have been working in the industry since 1986 and have seen many changes.

Have you ever come across - Giyathan Bewildering Gratification - (do a google search ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to repair your electronic items like a wizard without the hard work. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got great success with it.

How does this process differ if I put through my measly 5 development boards? Is it more manual or can it deal with a bunch of individual boards? I see a bunch of processes that seem to require some setup before a board can be put through. I mean, it seems incredible that I can order half a dozen boards and get such professional results. I have long ago threw away all my tools and chemicals that I had for making boards myself.

I think companies like this are able to sell small PCBs by placing many of them on a panel. They then cut the panel and send the bits that were your original design back to you.
