@@bluetech2809 When BF2 was released was CS short before dying. My first CS Version was 0.56b. CS changed the style were LAN Partys get organised and how to handle with cheaters. We had more Anti-Cheat Hardware as Software. It was a wooden club hanging from the wall and was called SKM "Script-Kiddy Musher".

That's true but tbh today games are also quite intensive. I'm pretty sure the younger generation will say the same about games like Fortnite in like 20 years lol. But I get what you mean, at the time UT was released, it was just insane to experience something like this.

@@verloreneseele8898 Please, dont say "Fortnite". Its exactly this bunny hopping & ADHD game which has UT pushed away. Epic has decided to not make an UT Game again ... UT was once the Demo Showcase Game for the Unreal Engine. The big difference between UT and Fortnite is, that the "Fortnite Mode" can be easily implemented in UT, because its just a Defender & Battle Royal Mode. Compared with the Game Modes UT come with is Fornite just a bad joke. I wish the internet back when IT knowledged was needed to access the it. The place of the intellectuell was at this time truly a better one in all cases.

This has to be the biggest UT-tribute I've ever seen. So glad to have been a part of this, thank you bro.

Now this is what I call DEDICATION. Not only has each song been remixed with the utmost care so as to not differ too much from its original counterpart while simultaneously expanding upon them, but you also did the entire album AND released it for free! It's great to see the original UT still get love like this, shame we probably won't ever see another game like it again. Big up for the effort man, you've earned it! 🤘

Dont be so pessimistic. The Fortnite thing will only run so far. Trends are cyclical, eventually studios will come back to developing hardcore CTF type games with VR interfaces. Besides if Epic dont do it, pretty sure AI will be at a point in 10-15 years where it can generate whatever you want it to. The new youth can have their blockcraft and cell shaded build em ups, I'll have another dose of flak gun mayhem.

You keep the UT99 spirit alive, which is not a small feat. Hats off to you, sir.

Now imagine if they made a UT99 remaster with this as the OST.

If they call the original team to make it, then I don't see why not. I'd love to see it happen and would but it without thinking even for a second. I'd like to see the Ripper back, old maps but with renewed textures, but if they change too much of gameplay or map design, it might hurt the nostalgia 😣 and as R H said, often remakes are worse than originals. I'd say they should make a new UT, with new AND old content renewed (Ripper pls!) And also if they could and the Chaos UT as an option, it would turn awesome depending on how they work on/balance it.

It's a testament to the quality of Foregone Destruction that they put it into Fortnite completely unedited, but this is the first time in a long while I've heard a remix that didn't disappoint me in the slightest. Excellent work.

In last 20+ years I have listened to original UT music (modplug, xmplayer) and each and every remix I've occasionally listened to was not good enough in comparison to the original. Up until the day I've listened to your remixes on soundcloud for the first time. You respect the original creators like nobody else and yet you expand their work in the BEST possible way beyond imaginable. I enjoy your remixes very much and for that I am grateful forever. Boy am I glad to have found this! The algorithm moves in mysterious ways but sometimes it is straight up magic O__O I played the heck out of all Unreal games and this Soundtrack just hit the nostalgia button HARD!

A "thank you" for this tribute is long overdue. I play this album in the background for some nostalgic ambience several times every week. Have been for months. Man, that versions are a true love letter to UT99 and UT in general. Awesome work. I love it. I remember rocket jumping all the way to school...upside down...in boiling lava, every single day while listening to the soundtrack!!! :D

This is absolutely, absolutely fantastic. The OG UT soundtrack has been my "working on stuff" background music for years and this album has officially replaced it. It's both familiar and new, with the attention to detail in some of the remixes is outright astonishing. There's a lot of samplework from the original tracks but from what I can tell the majority of these tracks are newer recreations using different samples and synths. Speaking of which, the synthwork is extremely detailed at times, textural, expressive and vibrant. This whole thing is a goddamn triumph and I'd be disappointed if EPIC doesn't license or ask to use these in some kind of UT project in the future. Looking forward to some of your One Must Fall and Unreal 1 tracks later on! I hope you can find time or desire to do some UT2K4 ones as well :] EDIT: holy shit you have a bunch of 2k4 ones already. there is a god and it is you.

Necto is without a doubt the very best UT soundtrack remixer, somehow keeps it authentic and pristine while adding their own twist to the original tracks. So much love has been poured into this! I wish I could buy this physically on vinyl or at least a CD :D

I used to play other shooters more than Unreal Tournament but there's something about the UT99 aesthetic that resonates with me more than any other game of this genre 25 years later and this album not only captures that but greatly enhances the original work. Thank you for making this free.

Oh... my... I'm not worthy to listen to this. UT'99 is still one of my all time favorite games and I absolutely loved the soundtrack of it. This right here, is nostalgia overload and literally put me to tears in the first minute. Bravo sir! Well done! And thank you :D

I pretty much waited years for this album to drop and what can I say... It is perfect through and through! All the tunes sound really close to the original but with a fresh twist and obviously higher quality samples and production. Some tracks do venture a bit more towards a new direction but I actually think thats amazing, especially the ambient tunes like Seeker. Its like you tried to unlock unused potencial in some of the tunes and it worked out great. As someone who calls the UT99 music one of its favorites of all time, I can clearly say that this here was done with tons of love and time. And the mastering and attention to detail is also amazing. Even for audiophiles pure bliss. I cannot stop listening to it! Thanks a lot for this Necto Ulin! 10/10

I just recently installed the Unreal Tournament Game of the Year Edition from the original cd! It installs and plays perfectly on Windows 10. Awesome game, and awesome work with the remixes 😊

I took my time listening to this over the past few days; Didn't want to just burn through it, but savour it. This album... It's a love letter. Not to Unreal Tournament or Epic, nor even the fans of the game, but to the experience of playing the game itself. The sensations you get, the blood flow during those intense moments, the rush of satisfaction and relief that came with victory over a challenging opponent, all cemented in the minds of players for *decades* thanks to the truly excellent, heart-pounding musical score. A musical score that has now been remixed and remastered as an homage to the pivotal role played by the original. A fine wine, aged well, and enhanced with modern spices. Thank you, Necto. This project you've undertaken, while it may not be appreciated by a huge number of people, there are those, like myself, for whom this album touches deeply as the most profound recognition of those experiences.

This has to be one of the best UT tributes ever made. Absolutely wonderful work!

I can't believe I never came across your work before ! Listening to these brilliant reinventions of all the UT99 tracks was probably my greatest experience in the past year. I'm baffled how Unreal and new they sound at the same time, this must be the biggest tribute to a game soundtrack I have ever heard. UT99 was my first gaming love, made my own maps and played with friends while I was at university. So many years later all these tracks are still in my head and now there is this? What a time to live in ! It's been a while since I've put literal MP3's on my phone but this will go on there and be the album I go back to for the future. If I'm not listening to rock or metal, this is the shit I like listening to! Instrumental musical that is classical in influence, but not sound as that is found in EDM/Techno to bring it up to modern standards. Without vocals it is more of a challenge to write interesting and captivating music that doesn't "bore the listener". This succeeds on every level! GREAT JOB!

I really love this. You've managed to create remixes that maintain the original mood and nostalgia, while emphasizing those little moments that I wish were highlighted more in the originals. The end of "Go Down" is a perfect example of this. Excellent job!

Mate what can I say that hasn’t already been said in this comment section? these remixes are absolutely fantastic, UT99 has a special place in my heart and this takes me back to the early 2000’s when I was a kid and I was playing 99 before 2003 came out. Unreal Tournament may be dead in the eyes of its creators (and executioners) at Epic, but the gaming community will never let its memory die. Just turned 41 this year & I still play UT99 on a regular basis. I bought it in the box at Software Ect. When it came out in 99. It will never die. And this remix album is absolutely awesome! Great Job!

As someone that was disheartened to hear about the new Unreal Tournament game going into limbo, I cannot thank you enough for your work over the years in these remixes Necto Ulin.
