if youre looking for entertainment, then the valley is for you....but if hiking, camping, swimming, fishing and hunting is your thing, then payson is the place. a patriotic family oriented community where life is slow and our excitement comes from wildlife moseying into town....elk, coyote and an occasional bear...two beautiful parks where people walk their dogs at the crack of dawn...where the town rolls up by 9 and the 2 bars we do have close at 10 on weekends...where people remember your name and who are always willing to extend a hand when needed...beautiful homes, a movie theater, a community farmers market, library, dog park, places to eat...go out to the crosswinds diner at the airport and watch the planes come in...what a view...life is slow and its what you make of it...theres a place for everyone and this is our home

If you're in or coming through Payson and you turn onto W. Main Street, drive down to Green Valley Park; it's beautiful. Walk around and build an appetite, then head back to Duza's for a spectacular meal or to Rim Country BBQ. They're both well worth your time.

I lived here from 1999 to 2000. Loved it! Unfortunately, could not find a good job..livable wage. I found it wasn't what you knew, but who you knew that opened job doors. Otherwise, wonderful town. Wish I could have stayed. @@sandiejohnson9334

We retired there and lived there for five years. Got to know the people and tried to stay active in the community. Best thing we ever did was moved out. Nothing there of any interest and you can only hike so much.
