while I wasn't too happy with the changes to Murky Station (Turbid Station), I'm actually pretty pleased with how Cook Off turned out. Not the most substantial of changes, but just enough to make the map feel more balanced and natural.

Remember in PD2 infinite control status? (If you don't get into the house, assault never gets started) I believe, in PD3 they do this kinda "If guards didn't triggered - assault never happens"

I think if the game came out as it is now people would have been a lot happier and the “first update” introduced these legacy maps everything would have gone smoother

I'm still waiting on this game. I got a late start on payday 2 aswell, like around the big bank heist dlc. Payday 3 will probably become worth it to me when it has more heists and updates.

It's crazy that this mission takes place so close to home with it talking about upstate New York and even specifying chemung county, but the fact that the pizza box I found isn't from pudgies makes it like a 2/10 for actual accuracy of it.

The changes on this map seem a bit more......open? I'm not sure what the correct term would be. Like there's no more dead ends. There was the basement, the dead end room up on the second floor, the bathroom, and the balcony deck. Those have all been removed/refurbished so the entire map flows. It seems like a better ideal version of the map for PD3. PD2 you needed some rest spots to heal, reload, and keep the ma(e)th hidden until the van came. So it's ironic that they did so few changes that seem to have the most thought put into it on this recycled heist. You're also making a great point. The simple AI commands in 2 of "Stay here.", "Follow me." and "Carry this" (just in general when you threw a bag at them) was ideal for using BOTs. Now having them with "enhanced AI" just means that they're on the continuous "Follow me" command. The problem with that, OVERKILL, is that the delay between players moving somewhere and the BOTs picking a path is about like if you ignore your Sat-Nav while driving really fast. All you get is "Recalculating" while the BOTs blaze ahead through whatever obstacle they deem is in the way to get to where you are. They also will take the most direct and bonkers path as well. Some will follow you down a flight of stairs, others will get caught up recalculating and then just yeet out of a window to get to where you are faster. That's not better AI in any stretch of the imagination.

They're just very different games in a few aspects. The basement is no longer a dead end but in 2 that was appealing to me. I remember when Death Wish first came out and we tried Rats, we got stuck in the basement and it felt like a last stand. The game was balanced around the very real possibility of being fucked and it looking hopeless, hence why Inspire never really left the meta.

Honestly, if PD3 had the bots from PD2's Better Bots mod then I'd probably consider buying it.

I've been waiting a really long time to see the general get the opportunity to create a map for us or even have his own dlc.. The general is why 2 had such a lifeline to it that it did and still does. ❤❤ Thank you O.G. 🙏🙏 🐐

In case you didnt know if you restart a game eveythingd the same but it can spawn upstairs the rng wont change if you restart

Tbh i got bored pretty quick with the game and i REALLY dont like how the assets function works having to hope you get them as random drops from other heists just feels weird...and kinda backwards...because it doesnt make you feel like theres a reason behind you having them itd make more sense to have planning stages of heists that have potential to get assets or even just buying them

Game feels hard core For solo specially server heist it feels like mission imposible. Game bit unbalanced ir 4 normal LVL cool but IF solo its 3x harder

Cook Off 2.0 is excellent. It's definitely in the top 3 best heists in the game, Shade's new voicelines are far less abrasive (she sounds less like she's yelling and trying to be quiet at the same time), and the new music is really fun too. The basement cook is by far the best one in my experience, seeing as it's pretty easy to defend and the boards don't often get broken, meaning if you board up all 4 windows, there are only 2 entrances the cops can use, which are both huge chokepoints that anyone with a shotgun or an automatic weapon (or really any weapon except for maybe the bolt-action) can hold down really easily. Increased ammo pickup on the SMGs means you'll never run out of ammo, either.

As far as I can tell cook off is still endless. I think the bags that display are the amount for the maximum reward, but each additional bag of meth after that is counted as a bonus or something. If you run out of cooking ingredients it lets you place a flare down to call in a supply drop with a bag of more ingredients that you can place in the same room with the meth lab. I didn't make it to the max bag count on my solo run but I got like 10 and I was able to call in a supply drop at least 2 times and it prompted me to call in a 3rd drop before I went ahead and ended the mission.

Cool to see the map remade with more coop in mind. But this kinda seems like a compromise with progression. They won’t change the progression, but they’ll have a heist like this, to combat people ignoring heist objectives, or sitting in the tub to get xp. I’m still never gonna buy this, as long as long as it has this lame progression system in the first place.

What exactly are your gripes with the new progression system? They've addressed pretty much all the issues people had with it in the latest patch and now Challenges are only a part of levelling up and not the only way to level up.

@@xweert711 I'm pretty sure the heist rewards for xp are much smaller than challenges. And it's not like that's the only thing stopping me, I still don't like the massive call of duty influence (UI, killstreak weapons, battle royale armor system, challenges), the art style, the horrible servers/matchmaking with no offline mode. I also hate supporting release early/fix later games, I don't care what position starbreeze is in financially right now, that's not my problem. I'm not gonna fund this unfinished game and beta test it for them, when I already did that with Payday 2, they threw out half of what made that game good, then they're surprised to see people want those refinements of Payday 2 back. Do you not see how stupid I would feel if I bought this game after that?

@@meat. I mean... If you play the station map 20x times just to grind and don't actually care about having fun, then that's just you trying to grind instead of just enjoying the game. I really enjoy playing the game and now I can make quite decent progress in my infamy no matter what heist I do regardless of if I complete a bunch of challenges or not or what loadout I have and that makes the game a lot funner as a result for me lol

Maps are GREAT ! however... still alot of bloody work to fix there mess Game is still super wank for solo play..... AI are dumb af honestly why the devs went backwards still baffles me.... 300% health increase genuinely does NOTHING

the bullet sponge enemies are really, really needing to be addressed. its just rediculous that a heavy swat can take upwards of 15 bullets to the face. i miss payday 2 so fucking much. that game had damage models correct. this game is just a destiny clone at this point.
