Similar to Code Silver 2018, I took a 4-second audio file (Oh No!) out of this "mix" right between the anticipation and assault phases. If you wanna see the difference: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hmWFpbqxqtSpcbg.html (plays at 4:20) My reasoning for taking it out is that I felt those extra 4 seconds broke the flow between the anticipation and assault so I felt that this "mix" would sound better without it ***outside of the game*** - but I completely understand why it's needed when it's played ***in the game**** Everyone's gonna have a different opinion on it though, so that's why you get both choices!

i think those 4 seconds are for when someone joins in the middle of the match and they can't fuck up the music, so they loop the 4 seconds

Fits all the roles the original team does actually funny enough. Sokol is the mastermind like Dallas Sangres is the weapons expert like Chains Sydney is the technical/completely unhinged addition like Wolf Clover is the stealth expert like Hoxton (she was even trained directly by Hoxton too) I would point out that Hoxton became the "fugitive" when they added him in but Houston was Payday 2's original Hoxton design

I love how this heist is meant to basically be a sidequest, and for that they made the less relevant heisters the centerpoint of the promo art. So while the most important heisters like Duke, Chains, Dallas, Hoxton and maybe Jiro are raiding the white house, Sangres, Sokol, Sydney and Clover head to the Mexican border to lay a final blow against Murkeywater.

I like that the composer included multiple sound samples that would be right at home at a border checkpoint, like a chain fence shaking in the beginning , a metal detector going off in stealth 2 or search dogs barking during the assault phase ect. It makes the whole piece feel very immersive!

Believe or not this is the first payday 2 heist that got me into the game. So it's mid summer i went to sleep with youtube on autoplay i woke up to see a man hauling hank hill bags of meth to the tunnels so I kept watching and then I looked up the channel then I looked up more videos of this game I've only heard of then I got the game when it was on sale and here I am now almost infamous with millions in my back pocket all because I woke up to a guy killing bikers and moving hank hill body pillows.

At the assault part, I do feel that the electronic section really takes away the “Mexican” feel to the song (and the mission) I would’ve rather the mexican guitar sections be extended and turned into a more “EDM” version of itself to really sell the feeling of mexican-ness and get the adrenaline pumping

Amazing track, but someone needs to tell Gustavo to stop making Anticipation 50 seconds long. You can't even hear it in the game.

I think that the 50 second anticipation is in case a player joins, as it pauses the game, but doesn't pause the soundtrack, and as such, the trigger for the start of the assault is delayed. The 50 seconds are probably to make it less apparent if there were a mistake with the looping end points, or if it were a gradual build-up. Break the Rules, for example has a few notes before the actual assault track starts, but under the case of a player joining, it loops that section, throwing off the entire anticipation. It's also probably why the beginning of the loud track starts with the bass drop or whatever, instead of before.

Yeah, it sounded like a 2nd assault phase to me too, but the phase comes as *one* file rather than being split up which implies to me it's all supposed to be taken as one long assault. And np!

Raid was done by Lion Game Lion who were a studio largely made up of former OVK employees (which is the only reason they actually knew how to work Diesel).

I love the guitar parts
