Great stuff, particularly comparing rank and file players' pay with the big names and in other sports! Looking forward to Part 2!

11:10 The man in the middle of this photograph standing between Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig is someone who probably should be more well-known than he is. His name is Christy Walsh, who, for all intents and purposes, was the first professional sports agent. He represented Ruth, Gehrig, John McGraw, Walter Johnson, Rogers Hornsby and others as well as some football personalities such as Knute Rockne and Pop Warner. While he didn't negotiate contracts with ballclubs, (this wasn't done by agents until many years later), he did coach his clients on what they should ask, and he represented them in setting up off-field opportunities (endorsements, appearances, barnstorming tours and such), as well as handling much of their publicity/damage control with the press (he ran a major sports writing syndicate with many of the notable writers of the day). Jane Leavy's book "The Big Fella" delves into great detail Walsh's role in building up Ruth's public image, which made both he and Ruth a lot of money.

Fascinating video! Big fan of your channel. Your videos are always so thoroughly researched and I like how you let the information speak for itself instead of making exaggerated claims or presenting in an over-the-top manner. Please keep 'em coming!! We will keep watching.

*BRING IT!* Good stuff! Want to see the salaries of Pete Edward Rose, in comparison to his cronies back in the day. This was good, you always do a good job *hahha* - don't let it get to your head. :o)

I liked it when professional athletes wanted 5-10 times the average worker's salary.

My new stuff hasn't been widely suggested by KZread. It probably has something to do with how infrequently I post videos, but even then, the service's algorithms can be mystifying. I was slightly stunned when my video about Kirk Gibson didn't get more views.
