I had something extremely similar happen to me. However, I wasn’t even asking for money. I asked if they could give me a job. Turns out, since I wasn’t on the big tithing roll, they said “No.” The gag is, 12 years later, the pastor of the church went to prison for financial crimes- scamming old people in the congregation. God is not mocked.

My church is a small church but a portion of the tithes go to a yearly scholarship for graduating high school students to further their education. My brother was married at 19 & they helped him get a decent reliable car to help him, his wife, & the kids since they were a young married couple. They also helped me pay for my school books! Just based off the title, I can CONFIRM that it IS true. Me and my family desperately needed help (we were homeless but God blessed us to live in a weekly) so I reached out to them but in order for us to be qualified for help we had to tithe for 6 months. At the time, I would tithe 10% (before I found your channel and learned better than that) faithfully and had been tithing 10% for a couple years. My family and I were so disgusted that we decided to seek help in other ways and continued to pray. We're doing a lot better now. Glory be to God. Side note: this wasn't the first time we have been disgusted by how Transformation Church "helps" people but that's a story for my mom to share. I will be sharing this video to her.

You’re right but God still wants us to tithes and give offering and it unlocks supernatural blessing financially if you don’t tithes you’ll still be blessed and God will certainly help you always because you’re his child but when you tithe and give offering there’s supernatural blessings that are different if you compare a giver to a non giver there’s always a huge difference in there finances and oftentimes those people who are extremely blessed started giving when they were extremely poor and God exploded their finances and I am a first hand witness people just say ohh we don’t have to tithe now in the New Testament because they love money and the love of money is the root of all evil you can’t love money and God at the same time you must cling to one and despise the other the Bible talks about tithing all throughout the New Testament before Jesus died and after he died so I don’t get why people try to twist and say we are not to tithe other than they must love money more than God and more than his house money is nothing to me I’m free to give and because of that every time I turn around God is blessing me financially a lot of times instantly too and other times the seed takes time to manifest and I’ve lived most my life as a non tither and giver and the moment I started tithing and giving my finances have never been the same there is a huge difference so no you don’t have to tithe to get to heaven but if you want Gods blessing and favor on your finances on your business on your job etc then you need to give to see such blessings otherwise you’ll just be watching God help you out of financial burdens but when you tithe and offer consistently you no longer have to go through financial burdens and I am a witness I’m speaking from my knowledge of reading the entire Bible and my life style and watching what God has done in my life as well as the other givers around me

I remember this in a church we attended back in Richmond, VA. We were very active in the church. I worked in the book & tape ministry & my husband was in the camera ministry. We were faithful givers, tithes, offerings, church anniversaries, pastors & wedding anniversaries, birthdays & their vacations. Abd it was set amounts. One time for their vacation, they chose Paris. And each member had to give $300. Then one Sunday morning the pastor said, if you ask the church for money, the 1st thing they are going to do is check the books to see if you're a tither. If not the answer is no. That was eye-opening. I said to myself I pray that we never have to ask the church for a dime. Thank God, the truth has set me free :)

If you read your Bible, God instructed His chosen people (Israelites) to tithe to the Levites because they did not have land of their own and they were doing the will of God. Tithing was always livestock and crops, never money and they had money then. Tithing is not taxes, they paid taxes in the Bible days. Tithing became money and a secular obligation around the 6th Century to the church building. Man ran with this idea and it stayed. This was not originally done in America, but eventually it was. God said He would supply all our needs, but it doesn’t say if we pay tithes. This concept is man made and it’s not taught according to Scripture. The Scriptures are twisted to mean what they want. God said help the poor, widow, ect. You don’t need to go to a building to do that. We should give to our communities and others. God loves a cheerful giver so that’s what we should do. Cheerfully give to people we come across, expecting nothing in return.

Yet, promoting your partners book would get me some sales to give back to them but oh no. They only care about your money not you. The church today isn’t about Christ & souls. It’s about money, fame, popularity. If I didn’t know a 100% that Christ is the way I would run like a thief away from the church & be a Muslim or anything else except a church. I once belonged to a church, immediately after people finish New Members Class the head Deacon met with people individually. The purpose was to ask if he/she needed anything frat the church could do for them. At that time I had not been working, needed to pay one month’s rent and electric bill. Later that week I was given paperwork and attached me rent information and electric bill. The Pastor signed off and my bills weee paid. Take it that at that time I had not tithed because I had just completed New Members Classes. That Pastor has a live for God’s people and the church is still growing and being blessed in so many ways.

I believe the message(s) on this channel has simplified Christianity. It has removed the fluff and noise. This is my first comment. I am not saying the church is a free for all, not even for members. However, if what this young lady said is true in its entirety then it is disheartening that this flashy preacher/church/ministry could not give to her after she clearly documented her plight. We needed help financially and were living in a hotel with 3 kids, and we came to the pastor to ask for help and he said “yeah, but you have to be put on a repayment plan and you all have to pay interest and fill out a contract of repayment and it needed to be paid back in 30 days”. At that point we were like NOPE! Never again! We left that situation shortly after that, and God delivered us from that valley. Sometimes God is trying to test the heart of that church as well, just to see what the motives are. And I kid you not that church shut down about 1 year later. 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s why I stopped giving to the church I used to attend for almost 8 years. From 19-27years of age I have gave weekly. Hopefully I gave to the bishops offering, church offering ,yearly First Lady offering, biweekly, guess, speaker offering, and random “sow a seed” offerings. From 19-24 I wasn’t making that much money and had rent, phone , utilities, and car insurance payments. Still I tied on top of all of these offerings. Yearly are tired out of my income tax too. My grandmother passed away when I was 25 and I got super depressed and couldn’t work. I was two months behind on my car payment and just needed help with that solely because I was back to working. My church told me no. I even said I would pay that back just didn’t want to face a repo. I gave faithfully all the time and never got my “seed blessing”. I gave thousands of dollars every year and the bishop with the doctors agree with a good job, couldn’t help me. All that money I was given to church should have been going into savings account for myself. Because when I needed money, the most, I couldn’t even turn to the church that I attended 5 days out the week.

The dynamic of the church that was set up was that Every Believers Needs were met. God has shown me that if the pastor has a home , car etc. Everyone in that ministry who have shown themselves Faithful and to be a true part of that ministry should be helped. If you say that we can't do that for everyone because our church is too big, then your church is too Big! I love the church but I've seen too many times being a part of the ministry staff and close up, that they help who they want to help. It's not right that the pastor and his family all drive Mercedeses or Rolls but there are people in the congregation that don't have a car. The Pastors daughter goes to college in a private jet but the Single mother struggling and have to get a loan for her child to go to college . I don't have a problem with Pastors living good, they should, but God wants to bless Everyone who is serving, not just him. But God shown me that many Pastors are hoarding the blessings Gid wants to pass on to his people for themselves. That's why so many or so wealthy and even rich and have faithful people in their church struggling to pay rent, yet still giving. Don't get me started. Gods system is Always the best system, No Doubt!!!

If God blesses them then why isn't God blessing the congregants??? The ones who are faithful but continue to struggle. One thing I know only the elite members get invited into the pastor's circle because they're the biggest financial supporters. Just like the movie "Greenleaf" where the affluent members get invited into the mansion for these elaborate dinners. God is NOT a respecter of persons yet these famous preachers discriminate between the rich and those on fixed incomes who give sacrificially.

I had that same experience with a popular large church in Detroit. I was there for a long time and had to fill a application out, and one of the questions was about tithes. Also at the beginning of the year you pay to have the pastor prophesied to you. It was one week sacrifice. I was naive concerning the ways of some churches. I let this go on but always felt some way about it. I eventually left and when I left began to build my relationship with God and let the Holy Spirit lead me. I have no church hurt as they say, but disappointed in people. People put their trust in churches to help when in need, unfortunately there’s no help for the people. I question everything now. To God be the GLORY!

Just had this conversation within my brothers today. If tithing and giving offering is continued within the church of God, it should be to help the body of Christ and those who are in need.

I was getting counsling from a pastor once and I was a memeber of the church. During the counseling session, the pastor asked me if there was any reason why I hadn't paid tithes in the last month...long story short, 2 months later, I stopped attending that church. I was there for marital counseling, but he decided to bring up tithes when the reason I was there didn't have ANYTHING to do with my reason....ok aight

Felt weird when he would publicly show what he gives others and the rest of the church would be so upset. Plus he gave his mom luxury goods on stage as apart of the sermon, which was weird

That is ridiculous that a person doesn't qualify to be helped. I've never heard of that. Everyone qualifies. Then in order to be qualified you have to give a certain amount. What if you didn't have funds to give but you gave in other ways. My heart hurts for her. If I heard her story when I was blessed I would have helped and I don't even know her. Peace and blessings to her.

This happens at small churches also. My friend and her family was a member of her church since childhood lost her 20 yr old in a car accident and her home church only agreed to do the service because they were close with a big name gospel singer(we all know her) who was her child’s godmother once the church found out the gospel singer wouldn’t be able to attend they turned my friend her family away tho they have been members for over 30 years. 😢 she went to another church for her child’s funeral service.

When I use to tithe, I didn't pay it, I gave. Paying is like a debt that you can never get out of. The lady made a mistake by showing everything to evil people. I remember one time I asked for help with food and they sent me a bible.

THIS IS HOW YOU CAN CALL OUT THESE ROTTEN HUSTLERS: ASK THEM ONE QUESTION, "" DID THE APOSTLES EVER MENTION THE WORD, "TITHE(S)?"" NOW, OF COURSE THEY'RE GONNA SAY YES. THEN ASK THEM ONE (1) MORE QUESTION: "WHERE?""

Tithes was for the fatherless, the widow, and the stranger in the midst. The tithe was also for the levites (not pastors). The tithe also was food unless you “redeem the tithe” and it was a meal. TITHES WAS NEVER MONEY!!!

I didn’t come to preach today but I have a business checking account that has a minimum balance that if I’m not there the bank charges me a fee for upkeep. A building might have a cross at the front and bibles in the pews but the minute you have to have a “minimum balance” for the building and its people to start noticing you…that’s not a church - that’s a financial institution.

I once attended a church that denied my monetary request for help as well. I had been tithing until my funds ran out so I asked them to help me with a month's rent so I could graduate college and the "benevolence" staffer said not to ask the church for help; ask God. As I understand scripture, it is through the church that God helps, He rarely answers prayer miraculously (loaves and fishes). Well, needless to say I stopped attending that church. What ended up happening to me is I had to sell all my furniture, break my lease so I could live in a cheaper part of town (away from the college), and the college put my degree on hold until I paid the balance of the tuition. It was a very Job-like time of my life for about 6 months, then God blessed me with a high paying job that allowed me to pay off my tuition. I really like that job because I was able to move around, including living on a tropical island, in the desert, and near resort towns! God provides for those who trust Him.

Different megachurch but: I had a relative who got a flat tire at church because the church moved a parking sign, but lift a very small undetectable part of the metal post in the parking lot. We were leaving one evening and she ran over that metal post. Her tire immediately went flat before we could depart from the parking lot. The police officer on sight took a report and church staff were informed and came out. Nevertheless, when she had her tire replaced, they paid for the tire, but not the amount to have it balanced. It reflected poorly on the church to me because she would not have needed the tire balanced except that she had to have it replaced due to their negligence. I know this situation does not compare to what the young lady in the video went through but it shows a prevailing mindset in a lot of these institutions: Be generous with us, so that we can be stingy with you.
