As a guitar player, that guitar is worth way more than $90k. A few years ago I moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, the home town of Les Paul. I learned more about that exact guitar than I thought I would. Mary Ford helped make that body style famous amongst guitar players. It eventually became the SG. Sad to see Mary Ford's nephew pawning her guitar.

I agree with you, it's one of those things that you just never sell unless you are completely down and out...at the end of the day you put that thing in an auction and you're walking away with a quarter million dollars easily, minimum, because it's a one-of-a-kind and the nature of the guitar itself with the papers included, will have two guitar lovers, probably and hopefully famous musicians even, bidding on it back and forth driving the price way up. Due to the nature of the item, selling it in that setting isn't ideal because the shop has to not only make a profit on it but they also have to take into consideration that it might not sell immediately so their money is tied up in the item until they get a buyer which is why they offer a much lower price compared to it being sold on the open market (seller to buyer with no middle man i.e. the pawn shop) or at an auction...
