It's only "worth" $3k because some random dude said so. There's no way to actually clock the value like that since value is dependent on demand. There is plenty of demand for something signed by Reagan and Disney since there are a ton of people who, for some reason, really really love Reagan on top of the Disney era nostalgia/history.

As a Disney fan I would love to have this bill. It's a one of a kind piece of memorabilia from the opening day of Disneyland. The condition of that bill is so sad, so many dark deep folds, and watching how he treats it is really upsetting. Even in good condition the bill would be worth less because the printing is off center but it could have been a lot better had he not treated so bad. I wish I had gotten it.

Its no secret they pick what to showcase on the show, but what they do is examine it or have a lackey do it, and then call the expert they'll need, and tell em what it is so they can research it, and they can work out an "appraisal" price the shop wants to pay.
Don't buyers at private auctions receive proof of payment and verification of the items value!?
