Yes, but in this case, he really wants to buy it. Whereas on the show, he doesn't feel any pressure to make a deal. But then again, he already has a buyer with a solid offer guaranteeing a profit of 2k+ So... I guess you are right...

its called bad acting for tv show. Remember he isn't a actor, so when doing the shoots, editing, rehersals, etc most of the guys aren't quite that polished and do the overacting thing a bit too much.

Guy was asking $70,000 so, Rick should have offered him $1.96 and told him he would have to have it cleaned and framed, and then, it might sit around his shop for a year or more, etc. Ha ha.

HeavenHammer because cleaning the coin would damage the coin as some elements that can’t only be removed by taking some of the coin with it. Also messing with the natural state of the coin lowers its value as coin collectors prefer it in its aged formed than it being tampered
Seller of the improperly cleaned coin was actually called by Rick to be an expert on one other episode

I have a 5p coin minted in 2016 an a US dollar quarter in 2015 I'm selling both for 1.25 million ... in 1000 years you'll see it was a very wise investment
