This is what people said when I played the Esper Teaching deck months ago. So I knew it would be liked, I just had to find a list that worked in the current meta. It would probably have to be changed after MH3 as well. It'll be back just might be a while.

When you killed r1g2 the runner with agony warp, you could have -3/-0 a different creature and save one life, which would have given you one more turn to survive 🤓

@@Kirblinxy yea people forgot agony warp gives you two targets. one to save life w blue binding, one to kill. Also i do actually think you were winning game two as that was the turn you needed to get past. if you untap you have 6 life with crypt incursion and 4 from your two campfires on board. g3 you won anyway but kinda off the back of his 4(!) synths all wiffing

I love this deck but no clear wincon is something that always bothered me. I run this on paper with one Molten Tributary, one Serpentine Curve and one Fling to eventually hit them in the dome for 20+. Back in the old Teachings lists we also had multiple Evincar's Justice to get to a point where you'd wrath with buyback and chip at their life while gaining back the 2 damage you deal yourself with the Talismans but starting that loop is a lot harder these days.

i would recommend Sprout Swarm for the teachings wincon, it snowballs

I think it would lead to a different kind of UB deck as you want as much as you can to be able to be cast at instant speed. Also adding creatures makes all the sweepers worse and let's your opponents removal not be dead cards.

i feel like sneaky snacker can be played as the main wincon with this kind of deck

This is great! nice deck! ! maybe tithing blade as a wincon can be viable option too.. edict effect + every turn ping damage with lifegain !

Yeah, someone else pointed this out as well. I didn't realise until this league and would definitely change them to spellbombs. This is what I get for just copying lists from 5-0 dumps and not thinking about them too hard before playing them.

I’m envisioning a grixis teachings like this, but with breath weapons just to simplify the sweeper slots. I think it’s a lot more universally good than hoping you have the right 1-ofs of echoing decay, fumes, drown or whatever. As I take another hit of the crackpipe I’m wondering if I can’t jam this into a cleansing wildfire shell for that value… but that may be too much lmao

Might be the way to go after MH3 to have access to Dust to Dust as I think Affinity will rise in popularity. It's just got to sit on the bench a bit longer.

Was going to try to do another meta matchups video this week before the meta changes again. I'll do my thoughts on MH3 in that vid. My opinions get shaped real easy by others so I think I'll be repeating a lot of what others have already said which is why I haven't made a video on it. List looks good, only missing Refurbished Familiar which I think is easily most pushed card in the set.

I think I was hoping to draw into multiple removal spells which is why I kept picking Frantic Inventory. Should have taken the edict on the first teaching to half the clock because it ended up being too quick for me to dawdle around.

Just copied a list and didn't think too much about it. I do think I mention it at the end as this did end up mattering a couple of times. Definitely should swap it.

Uhhh, I'll try to give the deck a run in the Pauper Brew society and record the games. It's a very rough concept at this stage and wouldn't stand a chance in a league.

Agony warp could have 2 different targets, in the second game of round 1 u selected same target for both modes, could had 2 more life for the nexts turns

Would have only saved 1 life, but that would have lead to a whole nother turn. Someone else pointed this out already and was a pretty bad punt on my end.

Idk why the Mono U Fae player didn't resign after your crypt inversion. They're not possibly winning this, they should save their clock for game 2/3

Bro, change the lands for some ice tunnels, only being able to get 1 swamp out of your loriens was just bad

Definitely could use one more just for those double black spells. The original list didn't have any and don't know what the correct number is. I just started with 1 and can always add more in the next league.

Thanks. A little too much empty space on the left but the teachings guy fit perfectly on the stool that I had to put him there. Was hard to find another card that would work on the other side and Evincar's was the only real option even though it is sort of awkward.

Yeah, it did sting the wallet to buy the other 2 for the sideboard (I only owned 1 before this video). Hopefully they find a way to make these supplemental cards cheaper at some point because Campfire, Kenku and Breath Weapon are starting to really balloon in price.
