Always comes across as genuine and made some great music in the eighties but he should have stopped years ago. Voice problems meant he could not sing for most of 1984 but he did contribute the opening line to Do They Know It's Christmas? in November. It was clear his voice was not what it had been at that point. The Secret of Association in 1985 was great and seemed to herald a return to form and the Live Aid performance in July is accomplished but listen carefully and there are signs that the voice had not recovered properly. Sad, as there are lesser talents whose voices are intact years later.
