Paul Tierney: Running The Wainwrights
Спорт

In June 2019, inov-8 ambassador Paul Tierney set out on an epic adventure to summit all 214 Alfred Wainwright Lake District peaks in one go. His goal was to try and beat the record time of 6 days 13 hours and 1 minute, set five years earlier by fellow fell runner Steve Birkinshaw.
Needing to cover a distance of approximately 318 miles and ascend the equivalent height of four times Mt Everest, Paul knew this was his biggest challenge to date and enlisted the help of friends and family.
Battling sleep deprivation and everything the Lake District weather could throw at him, what transpired was a story that gripped not only the fell-running and ultra-running communities but also the wider sporting world.

I'm new to inov-8 and am currently testing the Roclite G 275. It's an excellent shoe for many reasons. Look for my review on www.runrepeat.com in the near future.

What an amazing film, makes me want to be back in the lakes!! Such an incredible achievement, and really shows how supportive the ultra/trail running community it. No more supportive community in the world
Beautiful!
25:15 Such down to earth language, these Cumbrian fell running types -'suffering like chuff' - love it!
We cant wait to watch this!
thank you for sharing your story
Amazing film, fantastically put together. Well done to Inov-8
Humbling, Amazing, Inspired!
Simply incredible. What a guy and what a team!
Epic...absolutely epic.Congratulations to Paul and his team.
It was amazing to just follow this adventure on Paul’s tracker that week and to see the trip in this format is even better.
Brilliant film - lakes looked epic and well done for smashing it Paul !
Wonderful, beautiful, funny, motivating and insightful. Paul is quite right about mental pain and its too sad he lost his friend to it. I shall think of Paul and his friend Chris Stirling tomorrow when I’m out running the hills, and remind myself that I can stand the pain of the effort to keep going with my feet and my mind. I understand that darkness very well, but this film show that the lightness shines too. Thank you to all who made it.
Incredible achievement, fantastic piece of film making, such a moving story. 10/10
A truly amazing feat of endurance, I’ve never met you Paul, but I take my metaphorical hat off to you for completing it and for breaking the record, but most of all for being so humble in the build up, the race and on completion, a human quality rarely seen today... (Binsey - arse hole of the Lakes, still laughing at that now 😂)
Awesome stuff! Very impressive-the run and the landscape. Thanks for sharing the experience.
Unbelievable achievement and so inspirational !!! What a great film/documentary ..... thanks . Jason
Wow! That was just an incredible film about an incredible achievement. Congratulations to everyone who was involved.
Amazing. Well Done Paul and God bless.
Grand effort by a grand feller! Its great that mental health is now being spoken of and championed after years of being an issue that people just didn't speak about. As an aside, totally nonplussed that anyone could give this video a thumbs down??.What kind of lives do these sad people lead...bizarre!!!
Really enjoyed this, makes me miss home and really want to get out running more. Congrats on an amazing achievement Paul, you should be very proud of what you did
That was an amazing film - just brilliant
I often look at fell races on you tube from the lake district but this showed me the true majesty of the place. Well done from wexford.

Fantastic video, truly brilliant achievement and a fitting tribute. The auto generated subtitles changing Fell Running Community to Felony Community is somehow strangely appropriate too :D

So 214 peaks equal only 4 times the height of mount Everest ?

A lot of the peaks are linked, you don't descend to sea level each time. Also, how many people do you know that have ascended Everest, four times in six days ;-)
