In today's world, compared to everything else going on....was what he did really that bad? Charlie Sheen has done 800 times worse and people think he's a pop culture god??? If it was the fact he was a "children's entertainer" that made it worse... many (older) people realize he wasn't really a childrens entertainer; Adult comedy was his gig for many years before PWPH.

The fact that during the 35th anniversary of the Pee-wee Herman show we are now learning that he has been privately battling cancer for six years and at that point it had been three years is so tragic. Paul thank you so much for the Memories in the laughter and to his family if you're seeing these comments and reminiscing about the Beloved actor that you called family I want you to know that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing Paul to share his life with all of us and we thank you for allowing us to be part of that Journey. And Paul I saw that you wrote an apology for not going public with your cancer battle and I want you to know that I along with I'm sure millions of other fans out there want you to know that you have nothing to apologize for your battle with cancer was private and that was your choice and we respect your choice and we want you to know that we will never forget you and that your battle with cancer for whatever reason you decide to make it private is your choice in your business and we want you to know that we respect you in your choices and that there's nothing to apologize for you gave us years and years of laughter and great memories and that's all that matters right now is the fun times that we got to have with you. People tend to forget that just because you're an actor it doesn't mean that your privacy gets to be taken away. And to your family I want you to know that I will respect your privacy at this time as I'm sure millions of his other fans will as well I know there will be people out there that won't and I apologize on behalf of those people but just know that his fans are here for you if you choose to ask for us
Rest well Pee Wee. 1952-2023. . "A gifted and prolific talent, he will forever live in the comedy pantheon and in our hearts as a treasured friend and man of remarkable character and generosity of spirit."

@@ulphil08 He's not a pedphile. He collects vintage prn, and a very small portion of his massive collection happened to be of mnors. He purchased much of his collection in lots. At the time of purchase, he was unaware of the exact contents. His collection consisted of over 100,000 photos, video reels, literature and figurines. The items were 50 to 100 years old. Everything was legal at the time of purchase. The law changed since, and now he's considered a sx offender for possession. That's not a pedphile. He wasn't soliciting to chldren or downloading chld prn. He just failed to burn a part of his collection. (This is my third time posting this. I had to censor some things because apparently certain combinations of words are triggering a bot to delete my comment.)

About 20 years ago I went on vacation to Texas and we visited the Alamo. I asked one of the tour personnel how do I get to the basement. She was not amused. 🤣

This dude is underrated. Ahead of your time with Pee-Wee. I watched you growing up and now my 5 year old loves your latest movie. All of them were pure genius!
One of the greatest 80s movie off all time. One of the greatest movies of all time.
Love Pee Wee - he is eccentric , awkward , a real artist - he is goofy but in actuality he is serious and focused. Congrats on his 35th year !

Pee Wee was one cool dude. RIP.
Peewee made me smile just like he did when I was a kid.
That black kid at 3:04 was like “ why you disturbin’ nap time fool! ” 😂
RIP to one of my all-time favorites. 😞

True, but Im sure you know that its all an act. He seems genuine, but there was an "adult"version of pee wee on HBO and he was also arrested for indecent exposure in 1991. So his child like innocence went out the window for me back in the day when that hit the news....lol

@@eleven8948 I appreciate your perspective. I know that everyone on camera becomes a persona; and Pee Wee certainly is a fictitious character. I'm also very well aware of the other side of Paul Reubens. What he did in the theater; not something I would do, but at least he wasn't at a showing of a Disney film. He didn't hurt anyone but himself as far as reputation and public image. That character, "Pee Wee" came from him and his imagination and as such that character is very much a part of him. That is what I appreciate... and I was just speaking from the heart when I saw the video. I do remember being a little disappointed when the news broke about the infamous theater incident, but looking back there are far worse things going on in the world; and he still does indeed make me smile.
