Paul Pierce Offense Highlights

Paul Pierce's jumpshots, step back jumpers, pull-up jumpers, fade aways, spin moves, drives...
Only a small sample of Pierce's highlights, but you can get the idea of how Pierce usually scores the ball from this video.

Pierce was a prime example of how you don’t necessarily have to be uber athletic/fast to be a great scorer, but rather how having impeccable footwork and the ability to separate/create space is what separates the elite scorers.

ALTHOUGH IM KG FAN PIERCE REALLY WAS TRICKY GUY TO RANK HIM AND PLAY AGAINST. U NEVER KNOW HIS NEXT MOVE BECAUSE HE WAS BY FAR BETTER SHOTER THAN KOBE.

I love PPs game. Nothing flashy. Just tough. Could score from anywhere on the floor. Clutch. Deadly. Big time. Never shrunk in big moments. Showed up in the big games. I am a Heat fan so I hated Boston during that rivalry but Paul Pierce was and always will be one of my favorite players. This highlight vid is missing some of his classic games against Iverson's Sixers in the playoffs. Pierce had some big time performances in that rivalry. Salute to the Truth.

He had great range as a shooter, but he was an absolute nightmare in the paint. At any moment he could drive for a layup, pull up for a floater or a jumper at the elbow, step back for a jump shot or pump fake, make a spin move to the basket OR pull up for a jumper, and last but not least, back down his defender with a post up. And on top of all that, if any of these moves draw contact, he could still finish and get to the line for an extra shot. His scoring game had little weakness.

He wasn’t super slow lol. I think he could sprint without the ball, but like THE BEST PROS, controlled pace and body to kill defenders. One of my favorite pieces of advice came from Jason Kidd… To Paraphrase… A lot of the young guys try to play the game at TOP SPEED because TOP SPEED ATHLETICISM is what got them to the Pros…. BUT… once you can’t just jump over everybody, and 82 games becomes an entirely different animal than the 20-40 games played in college, YOU LEARN HOW TO DOMINATE AT HALF-TO-THREE QUARTERS SPEED…. THATS HOW YOU MAINTAIN A 20 YEAR CAREER AT THE HIGHEST TIER. The Highest Skilled Superstars we’ve ever seen almost never sprint most of the game

Pierce's hand eye coordination is off the charts. He's slow for an elite player. His lower body is usually contorted in some unpredictable way after he releases the shot. That's NOT how you teach body control for a scorer. Watch Kobe. His is textbook (despite his propensity to put up crazy shots that he shouldn't take)...No matter. Pierce's pure hand eye coordination guides the ball into the net. He has always been my 2nd favorite player behind Dwayne Wade.

Dillon Lyons I believe I was praising Pierce. Allow me to paraphrase since you aren't so good at that. DESPITE Pierce routinely getting himself into positions where other players can't score he has managed to score throughout his fantastic career because of his extremely gifted hand eye coordination. And no, he never was fast for an elite player. My point was that it did not matter because of Pierce's special talent. And you're on the internet, bud. You should know that every couch jockey is going to have an opinion. I've read some of your posts. You're more than willing to comment on things about which you obviously have no expertise. So drop the hypocrisy. We are all here to talk and judge.
