What makes the 'meanwhile back' line great is he doesn't sing it how it would be read in print. "For a fish and finger pie in summer. Meanwhile, back behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout..." He replaces the comma after 'meanwhile' with a period after 'back' when he sings it. For a fish and finger pie in summer meanwhile back. Behind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout...

On July 14th 2013 I saw Sir Paul in Indianapolis, and held up a sign from the 3rd row that said, "We stole your goat joke". between songs he mentioned the signs, and pointed us out because he said he didn't get it. Paul frequently likes to kid the Irish, perhaps because he's half Irish himself. His mother's maiden name was Mary Mohan. George was also half Irish, his mother's family was named "French" which, despite appearances, is an Irish surname.

I have to say, for the incredible musician, the brilliant songwriter Paul McCartney is, he is also a very down to earth human being. I've been loving him for nearly 60 years. 🥰
That punchline is the best. Leaves it up to the audience to fill in the blanks. Love it!

That joke would've been funny if anyone had told it, but hearing Paul say it is just priceless.
The best part by far of the whole joke for me is not cutting away and just lingering on Sir Paul after he has told this joke. Well told.
this joke coming from Sir Paul is gold!
I don't know how long I've seen this video, a decade or more, but the punchline still got me.

Haaaa LOVE YOU Paul that was a good one.. I just want to say thank you and your 3 other mates for all the beautiful music... I lay down in my be at night and and place my head phones on and go back in time .. i laugh i cry because it brings back great memories of my love ones who are all gone now. BUT !!!! you guys change the world and i was a little girl growing up in it and today at 59 Sir Paul McCartney im still blasting the Beatles music no matter where im at ... ❤💋❤ TKY
On July 14th 2013 I saw Sir Paul in Indianapolis, and held up a sign from the 3rd row that said, "We stole your goat joke". between songs he mentioned the signs, and pointed us out because he said he didn't get it. The drummer (Abe) spoke up and took credit for it! Thrill of a life time, and the sign strategy was flawless! (in getting his attention)
I like how he keeps holding up one finger at the end, lol.
The way he just stares at the screen after he's finished has me FLOORED. 😂😂😂😂😂

Just what I needed to hear today.....Haaa
Paul could be a comedian if he wanted to - it's all about rhythm, delivery and timing.
What makes this so funny to me is that on his cover of his album called "Ram" (pun intended, I guess), he is holding a goat by the horns as he looks at it mischievously from behind. We don't see him standing behind a mahogany bar on the cover, do we?
I have seen this video before, but I only got it now, making it even funnier.
I thought he was gonna say that he made the ”Guiness” himself, if u know what i mean
