Patti Page and Rosemary Clooney are my earliest remembrances as a toddler of the 50s. This song and How Much is that Doggy in the window? are two that I loved. Rosemary's Hey There and This Ole House I remember hearing on the radio when I was about 4 or 5! Great nostalgia!

When a young child, I used to listen to my mom’s 78 of Allegheny Moon by Patty Paige. I loved the music and Patty’s smooth voice. I love them still.❤

This takes me out of the uncertain present to a warm and secure childhood. Thanks so much for the opportunity to "time travel" back to a period when they had REAL singers and REAL, mature adults!

elysianfields49 I always had the dream of living in the beautiful neighborhood of a 1950s America. Watching a movie in a car going to a family diner listening to the radio hearing the voices of Margaret Whiting, The Andrews sisters, Jo Stafford, and Bing Crosby. That dream makes me feel so happy for once.

Patti had a firm belief every song should be sung as written with paricularly close attention to telling a story, not just reciting lyrics.

Watching a commercial for an Oldies compilation album and saw this title role across the screen. Something told me, even though this isn't my normal genre to listen to, I recognized the title. After Googling it, I found it to be one of those songs that was experienced at some point in my past, perhaps on a show such as The Lawrence Welch, and it stuck in my memory, even if I'd only heard it once or twice, years ago. Funny how integrated the Moon is in our consciousness. How it's mention is in every conceivable art form. This song has a relaxing quality to it, but the fact that the moon is at the center of the title and lyrics, is equally as drawing as is it's soothing melody. 😔✌🏻🌕🌈✨
