Ether and Chloroform are two different things, so saying that it'd be better known as Chloroform is factually incorrect. Both were used as anaesthetics, but Ether is flammable and explosive, and Chloroform is not, nor are they of the same chemical group.

Common misconception, the age of consent in japan is not 13 or 14. Its 16 like in many US states. The law says minors under 13 are not allowed to be in sexual situations or in sexual media, while 16 is the age of consent between adults. What this means is that 15 year olds can bone other 15 year olds, not that 20 year olds can bone 14 year olds like some nasty people would have you believe.

The "Diglett" sprites in Celedon city aren't different between the releases, it's just the flavor text when you click on it that's different. He literally pans between the two and they're, exactly the same. Also the Gambler trainer class WAS called Gambler in gen 1 in English. It got changed to Gamer in gen 3 and then PI in gen 4. It wasn't changed between the languages. And that's NOT Feraligatr's butt crack, it's a pair of bumps on its back, you can see it in the Black and White sprites where you can see the whole body from behind. Also I feel like the PP Aid getting a name change is to keep kids from getting it confused with the PP Up, a different item. Two items like that with similar names would probably confuse little kids. edit: PP Up and PP Max are both 'vitamin' items (like Iron and Protein) in the games and boost the base stat, so going from a 5 PP move to 6 for example, while the Ether/Elixir series are recovery items (cause they give you back spent PP, from 0/5 to 5/5). And the original names of these would have gotten quite confusing if not changed. we had Point Up and Point Max (PP Up and PP Max in eng) and then PP Aid, PP Recover, PP Aider and PP Max for Ether, Max Ether, Elixir and Max Elixir respectively. And like, YEAH trying to keep all those straight is gonna get confusing I think.

1:40 No, you know what, I'm coming to Grimer's defense. If you just opened up a sewer cover, you'd look around too. It just so happens that he's looking in the direction of a woman with a skirt, making it LOOK like he's checking out what's under there. If you follow his eyes too, you can see that he's actually looking more towards her face, not up her skirt. 2:12 I'm gonna defend Misty's Tears too. NOW BEFORE I DO, I want to make this VERY clear. I understand why people are upset by this card, and I understand why it was changed. That being said, take a look at the background. Pretty weird, right? Almost dream-like in a way. Well, let's take a quick detour over to Earthbound, or rather, MOTHER 2. In that game, when going to Magicant, Ness is, you guessed it, naked. Here's a direct quote explaining why from the Legends of Localization website: "I get asked sometimes why he would be naked in the game - it’s actually very common in Japanese games and anime for characters to be naked (while not showing any naughty bits) when something metaphysical/supernatural/philosophical is happening, especially if it involves the character eventually changing in some way." Basically, what I'm trying to say is that Misty's Tears portrays something similar. It's a dream-like realm where she's vulnerable and saying goodbye to a close partner, Staryu. I believe it represents vulnerability in a time of melancholy, and it helps portray the feeling of loss. I'm a bit surprised the video didn't mention Koga's Ninja Trick, since that's on about the same level as the Grimer card. For those who somehow don't know, the Japanese version has a manji/swastika, which tragically was stolen by the Nazis and now basically exclusively is associated with them. It was obviously censored outside of Japan, which is a shame, but I fully understand why it had to be censored.

There was a censorship filter with nicknames in Gen6, and could even extend to words in other languages. Like, I tried to name my Honedge "Violet" since when it would evolve, it would have purple accents. Perfectly innocuous name, right? Apparently not, since the "viol" part of that name means "rape" in French. It's even more baffling since we have a Gym Leader named Viola. (...Rapea???)

Actually Lavender Town's music could potentially have negative effects on people. Not really anything that would really hurt you but if you're really sensitive to the frequencies used in it it can potentially give you headaches but most of the negative effects aren't really things that would affect people physically (or at least not directly) and it's really only very specific people who are effected--usually people with sensory issues that can make them go into sensory overload. So it kind of has negative effects it's just not as bad as the creepy pastas say and this can really extend to any noise that uses these kinds of frequencies. Source: I'm extremely sensitive to frequencies like this and it actually does make me feel ill and give me headaches and this was way before I ever heard about the creepy pastas.

Thankfully whether it's a Gameboy, DS, an emulator, or a Nintendo Switch all of these devices happen to have volume controls meaning your able to turn down or off the volume so it's usually not a problem... _UNFORTUNATELY_ however there are a lot of videos on KZread that delve into the "creepier" side of Pokemon (or even just random creepypasta videos) that like to play the song in the background to "set the mood" and you can't exactly turn that off without also turning off the audio that's not related to the songs in question...rendering watching the video pretty much pointless unless you decide to suck it up and keep on watching anyway...

Instead of casinos they should do arcades with Pokémon themed arcade machines and you win tickets which you can redeem for items and Pokémon. You may argue well that’s gambling but arcades aren’t hit with the same laws and regulations as a casino. In casinos after a certain extent you have to give a payout. In an arcade the owner can set it so you’ll never win and you can’t do a thing about it. So therefore it’s not gambling if you lose

Prayer beads are used for the Rosary, which is a long prayer. Basically there's 4 sets of 5 "mysteries" (basically important points in the Bible), and one Rosary goes through one set, saying the point, then a Lord's Prayer, ten Hail Marys, and a Glory be to the Father. The beads are used to count those Hail Marys. In fact, I think they come in one set of 5 and 5 sets of 10, and the 5 are used to count the mysteries. At least, that's how they're used in Catholicism. Whether that was what GameFreak had in mind, is anyone's guess. Why does "is anyone's" autocomplete with "sugar baby" for me :)?

F A G is a very common slur used towards gay or otherwise LGBT+ people, hence why the name limitations would accidentally flag "cofagrigus" as inappropriate.

Yeah Not the nazi symbol though! It's a Buddhist symbol meaning peace. Nazis took it and slightly altered it for their sick desires (plus also making it a religious symbol, which gets censored) In the english version they made it a different symbol also meaning peace.

It irks me when people say onigiri to donut is censorship. It's not. It's localization where an element that is unfamiliar to the audience is changed to something they know. Yeah, it's half-assed and a bit questionable localization because they didn't make the onigiri to look like donut, or they could've just called it a 'rice ball', but it's not censorship. They are not trying to censor food.
