    Really Impressive! I'm Swapping standard fabric to whole leather in a BMW e46 with Sports seats. The seats got expandable side supports with a compressor and an air-pocket that stretches the current fabric. Any idea how to sew this with leather? :) My mother who got 20'ish years of experience with sewing had a few idea's, but she suggested me to ask if you have stumbled upon something like this before. :)

    If you're referring to the 'piping vinyl strip' it's just a ribbon cut of same vinyl material. A 'plastic pipe or cord' is wrapped around to give shape. It's used to reinforced the seams, besides as a ornamental piece. Please, watch a sailrite video:kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6Gf1sGHqtXAmsY.html

    Una pregunta es necesario poner manta aparte de la esponja delgada cuando se hacen esos diseños con costuras ? Y para atrás de la doble costura puedo husar el mismo material ?

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    8 жыл бұрын

    +betty cuadras Si es importante poner la manta en la parte posterior para que los 'acolchonados' no se deformen y queden contenidos en las partes que se cosieron...para hacer un 'acolchonado' se requieren 'tres capas' : la 'capa superior' puede ser de tela, vinil o piel; la 'capa del centro' corresponde al material de relleno y puede ser el 'hule espuma/esponja', lana, etc.; la 'capa inferior' es la de refuerzo y puede ser de manta, o alguna tela resistente delgada, ésta ayuda a formar los 'acolchonados'.

    Hello again - maybe you can help me here?Ive changed to a 138 thread using a size 21 needle; the lower tension seems to be too much as its dragging the thread to the bottom. I have seen your video on how to adjust the tensions, but I either have to back the screw on the bobbin cap so much the screw comes out or tighten the upper tension so much the thread breaks under the tension.There doesn't seem to be a balance where the thread locks in the centre of the fabric I am sewing together.Any advise would be very much appreciated.Thank you

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    2 жыл бұрын

    It sometimes happen when the hook point of the shuttle catches the thread loop formed in the needle eye too slow. When the timing is slow it makes tighten the upper tension harder than normal. Even so, it is a little difficult to balance the bobbin tension by loosening the little adjusting bolt. The solution would be to move forward a very little the hook point. Hopefully this video helps:kzread.info/dash/bejne/ooV7ssaiiZnTabg.html Some upholsterers try to straighten the little steel adjusting sheet by pulling it. It could work out but it is not correct.

    Alvaro Omar Oblitas Canchari Gracias por ser un seguidor de mis videos! Ya tenía contemplado publicar un video básico relacionado a las alfombras ...vamos a preparar una maqueta para mostrar como se hacen los cortes de la alfombra. Sólo te podría adelantar alguna información...los carros de fábrica llevan alfombra que fue moldeada con calor en una prensa que lleva las matrices 'macho y hembra'...esta alfombra lleva en el revés una cubierta plástica que con el calor se ablanda y toma la forma del molde. La alfombra que los tapiceros usamos (1.80 mt ancho) para retapizar, se trabaja en forma diferente, esta no se estira y si le aplicas calor para darle formas, la puedes quemar... ¿Entonces que hacen los tapiceros para trabajar éste material? ...simplemente hacer cortes necesarios para dar la forma del piso. Te envío alguna información útil relacionada: www.thehogring.com/auto-upholstery-forum/auto-upholstery-forum-group4/auto-upholstery-tutorials-forum6/how-to-cut-sew-carpet-in-a-classic-car-thread1864/ Este maestro hace un trabajo de cortes muy parecido al que yo hago...este foro es muy interesante para aprender algunas cosas muy buenas en el campo de la tapicería. Observa que la alfombra va extendida sobre un 'bajo alfombra' que es un material para aislar el calor. www.google.com.mx/search?q=auto+carpet+interiors&espv=2&biw=1093&bih=514&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=bzuKVafwO4OhyASCha9A&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&dpr=1.25#imgrc=OeRSYZuoqdRY-M%253A%3BlKFoGTHwQj6OdM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.gahh.com%252FPHOTOGALLERY%252F113_carpet.JPG%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.gahh.com%252Fmercedespictures.php%3B900%3B600 En estas fotos puedes apreciar un método diferente que consiste en sacar varios moldes en papel de moldear y luego cortar todas las piezas necesarias que estan ribeteadas en sus bordes. Espero que encuentres algo útil con esta información. Cesar

    +Alvaro Omar Oblitas Canchari Hola Alvaro, La máquina industrialque yo tengo es la pfaff 1245-706-47, triple arrastre, mesa plana, de una sola aguja, puntada máxima de 6 mm (por cierto es una versión antigua, original alemana que lleva una plaquita de metal con la marca y número de serie en la parte de atrás lado derecho)...las que son imitación sólamente le pegan un 'sticker de plástico'. La máquina que tu mencionas, me parece que da mas puntada, algo asi de 9 mm...pero me parece que no es original, fíjate en la parte de atrás a la altura de la palanca que regula las puntadas y reversa...si no trae la placa de metal va a ser de imitación de la China...su precio nueva está en 2000 USA dollar aprox....una original alemana cuesta más. Con las máquinas que llevan 'pata de rueda' también se puede tapizar...se usa más en la zapateria... lo ideal para tapiceria de carros y muebles es la de 'patas planas' triple arrastre. La que te ofrecen si son las chinas, salen buenas...si es usada, paga a lo mucho la mitad del precio. Otras marcas conocidas para trabajo pesado son la Consew 226, Juki LU563, Durkop&Adler 767, 867. +Victor Manuel Sanchez Hola Víctor, la máquina que utilizo es industrial, versión antigüa, Pfaff 1245-706/47 , triple transporte, fabricada en Alemania, para trabajo pesado con agujas desde 110=18, 140=22, 160=23 hasta 180=24. La primera 'pata/pié' es para hacer costuras planas; la segunda 'pata' que se muestra es acanalada y nos ayuda mucho a coser el 'vivo' o cordoncito plastico de refuerzo para un tapizado. Gracias por seguirnos en nuestro canal de you tube!

    Estimada Betty, en este video desde el minuto Cuatro:54 se muestran diferentes prensatelas que pueden ser usados para coser el 'vivo'. El que es plano de izquierda y derecha sirve para coser cierres y para el vivo. Los otros acanalados son exclusivos para 'vivo'. kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYV8tbpxoruviNI.html

    +Cervando Landeta Hola Cervando, estas máquinas usadas salen aproximado de 8,000 a 15,000 pesos. No te aferres sólo a este modelo, también hay otras marcas de máquinas industriales de triple arrastre que hacen lo mismo como la consew, juki, durkop&adler. En el DF hay lugares donde reparan máquinas industriales y se encuentran buenas ofertas, también en Leon-Gto. Hi I’ve been watching so many of your videos they are so informative gaining so much knowledge massive thank you for sharing all of this. I’ve got a pfaff 1245 and would like to know what needle and thread size you recommend for topstitching vinyl with 4 mm foam underneath?

    A 110=18 needle size would be Ok A 120=20 size is slightly thicker and it also works out good. These thin needles are for thin threads. Standard upholstery thread #92 would be useful for the blind/closing sewing and for the topstitching. But if you want to topstitch with a thicker thread, let's say the standard 138 size you would need a 130=21 as a minimum to not pierce too big holes in the vinyl material. The 'closing sewing' should be done with 92 thread size and 18 needle size. Informative related video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKia1MV9g5i9erQ.html

    @@seanburke1999 A wedge point needle would be useful for vinyl and leather. ..."The leather needle has a wedge shaped point which gives it the piercing strength it needs to penetrate heavy fabrics like leather and vinyl. The needle makes a very clean hole in the fabric, so mistakes are costly". www.superiorthreads.com/education/needle-guide
