The interplay between Troughton and Pertwee is fantastic. You can sense how much they respected each other, and loved working together.

I dunno if they loved working together. Troughton used to wind Pertwee up cos he took himself too seriously at times.

@@DS9TREK I think they clashed initially in 'The Three Doctors' - apparently, Pertwee preferred his performance be word-perfect, whereas Troughton was more open to ad-libbing - but as time went on they became very good friends, even if they would never admit as much in public.

I love that Troughton just actually talks like that in real life. So much of his Doctor was just him being himself.

I was at a Doctor Who Convention held in New Brunswick, New Jersey in the New Brunswick Hotel when I spotted Troughton, Pertwee and Ainsley running about the hotel lobby chasing and shooting one another with water pistols. Three very grown men reliving their childhood was an amazing site to see.

Enemy of the World is still one of my favorite stories. It really let Patrick show off his skills as an actor, how he could become a completely different person with just his tone of voice and facial expressions.

He’s right, it wouldn’t work, the whole dynamic was that the doctor looks like salamander, if the 5th doctor faces him again it would be lost and there would be no point, might as well make a new character.

What would've been an interesting twist was the brigadier was actually one of those projections timelords would occasionally utilize before they would regenerate into that form which in this case he could've been a future regeneration of the doctor.
