    The Chiefs secondary was the reason that Debo Aiuuk and Kittle were held at bay. That defense is one of the greatest in the league. Chris jones caused a lot of disruption but all of this and coaching is why the Chiefs won. Culture, commitment and execution was the difference.

    I've been a Chiefs fan since i was 8yrs old. I, like thousands of others, watched the Chiefs lose in the playoffs with Marty Schottenheimer year after year in the 90s. We struggled under Gunthor Cunningham, Romeo Crinnell, Herm Edwards, and Todd Haley. And now we are blessed and rewarded with Andy Reid who has built us this war machine, crafted for excellence. I for one am extremely grateful. And i am joyous for all of those fans that filled Arrowhead tgrough all those losing years (especialky under Haley) during the 2000s amd 2010s. These are for y'all. I am sorry, they would not have given him time to develop or find him the offensive tools. I have been a Chiefs fan my whole life (native born KC). I remember Brody Croyle, for pity's sake. Marty wasted JOE FRICKING MONTANA! We owe so much to Alex Smith for his professionalism - I wish we could have brought him back for one game post-injury because he deserves a piece of every single SB we have won with Patrick. He could not quite make it for us, but he gave us everything and helped to ensure that the professional Patrick became in the past six years had time to adjust to the game. @@mvpfocus

  • @mvpfocus

    @mvpfocus

    @@davidbailey7486 Well, we'll never know. But anyone that drafted Mahomes would have turned into a winner. We're just splitting hairs about how many championships they would have won. But every one of those coaches would have won with Mahomes. Conversely, if you swap the QB's in the Super Bowl, the other team would have also won with Mahomes, probably by a lot. Andy Reid was a good but not great coach until he got a hold of Mahomes. Always used to lose the big game. Mahomes hides Reid's weaknesses as a coach. Ultimately, you need the players to win, whether it be a dominant defense, and a game manager; or a dominant offense. But if you think about it, the Chiefs should have won a lot more easily with as good a defense they had. Their offense should not be this lackluster, and since we know it's not a QB deficiency, it becomes a coaching and front office issue.

    In hindsight Hill trade was the best thing that happened to Patrick and Andy.. it forced them to both change their play styles .. before trading hill it was deep plays majority of the time and barely running the ball.. after hill starting last year it was take what the defense gives you and run the ball.. sprinkled in with Mahomes play making ability .. we have literally seen the evolution of Patrick in the nfl from ultimate gun slinger to master field general ..

  • @mvpfocus

    Indeed. They had gotten so used to just going long, that they became too predictable... and it showed against Tampa in the Super Bowl. Without Hill, defenses are shook, because now the suspense is back. And Mahomes can still throw the best deep ball in the game, as he did during this year's Super Bowl.

By the way two clear cut game the Kansa city could have lost had the ref not interfere .. Brady play in an era where the defense of his time make defense of Patrick Mahomes time look like childish. The quarterback competition is nothing compare to the quarterback competition in Brady time . As far as I see he great but he sin the greatest until he get to 8 ring had he not play Brady at all might have an argument to 6 maybe . The fact is had Brady bit have 7 championship and 5 super-bowl mvp and Patrick had more but still lost to Brady then Patrick would be the best. In this case Brady already the best at five ring then he beat mahome and went on got 6 ring then he won his 7th against Mahomes. Brady have won his first three championship for sure with out a Ty reek hill or a kelce or Gronk until his next three he got Gronk and still won a 4 with out Gronk . And Patrick got the best offensive mind in Andy Reid as his coach

    I get what you're saying but technically the Chiefs did not beat them with the rule. The old overtime rules would have still allowed KC to get the ball after the SF field goal. So this rule didn't have an impact. Now if SF scored a TD, then Chiefs came back and scored a TD with a successful 2 point conversion, then yes, we would have beat them with the new overtime rule. Yes I'm nitpicking and super fun at parties.

    The thing that no one talks about as far as Mahomes' greatness that should be talked about is that no QB has won a Superbowl when accounting for more than 13% of the cap until Mahomes, and he just did it for a 2nd time. 49ers are stacked with talent, and they should be when their starting QB accounts for 0.4% of the cap.

    Patrick Mahomes is definitely well on his way to where he wants to be. He is the best quarterback right now in the national football league. My personal opinion, but the accomplishments, the stats are there to back it up and so forth are there and on top of that can we also talk about how They traded away his number one wide receiver a few years ago Tyreek Hill and those two years Patrick, Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won two Super Bowls back to back and that hasn’t been done in 20 years. The Kansas City Chiefs are definitely a dynasty. There’s no question about that and I know there will be a lot of people that don’t agree and that’s OK, but the Kansas City Chiefs are the ones still in my opinion to beat.

    Hill thought Mahomes' success was because of him, not because of Mahomes. He literally said the Chiefs were going to miss him thinking they cant do it without him, we've won every single SB possible since he left. While he is the reason we missed it the years the Bengals went instead, because he let the ball bounce right off his numbers (where he says he prefers it) into the hands of a defender in OT while we were driving to win.

SB52 like you said, where they allowed the eagles to score 41 points and win the game after Brady threw a record 505 yards and had 33 points by the end. You get the idea. Its idiotic to blame ONLY the defense in those games, are you also blaming the 49ers defense because they let Mahomes score a TD in OT as well? So the defense must be able to keep ANY lead and its their fault of they cant? The only SB where the NE defense blew up was the lost the against the Eagles. For the rest of the SBs they are equally responsible, if not more, for the win of the teams. Brady never had a defense outside of top 10 during those SB runs, you gotta fact check the stats before posting.
