This is like if when KD hit that shot game 7 vs the bucks with his foot on the line to force ot he just screamed at the refs then post game said it was the wrong call because it woulda been cool if it was for the series 😂 Like this isn’t a subjective penalty like pass interference or roughing where it’s on the refs to make a judgement call. This is an objective call, like stepping out of bounds. You either did it or you didn’t, you don’t get brownie points for being the chiefs (well a lot of times you do but not this time)

And that's why the rule exists. Because the movement of the ball is what begins the play, and every defensive player on the line of scrimmage must have the opportunity to see the ball. The offense cannot block the ball before the snap. A receiver lining up in the neutral zone is off of his own side, and therefore the penalty of offsides is applicable. It's a penalty, and it doesn't matter if it happens on the first play of the game or the last play of the game. The referees are there to do a job, objectively and by the rules.

Because defense reaction is based on the action of the offense, if a WR is offsides, they have better time doing his action before the defense can react, but also it blocks the defense from seeing where the ball at, more specifically, DBs, they can't tell where the line of scrimmage is at and could be offsides cause of it

True. I used to umpire fast pitch softball. I can remember quite a few times that a player would screw up, and the coach would come out and argue with me. Then, after the game, the coach would take me aside and explain that he was only trying to take the heat off his player. Maybe it was for the player, maybe so the teammates wouldn't turn on her, maybe because the player's parents were crazy. Either way, I get it. Taking verbal abuse is literally part of the job. If it helps shield the player from some kind of potentially traumatic abuse over a game, I'll gladly take the fall for them.

I remember Kelce behaving similarly a few years ago in the playoff loss to the Steelers; they tied the game with a 2pt conversion, but a clear hold by the Chiefs Olineman negated it, and they missed the next attempt. Kelce went off how they “made great plays and worked their tails off”, and the refs took it away from them. I understand the frustration and emotions, but it was a clear hold.

As a Browns fan, this cracks me up. We’ve been either just plain bad or screwed over 6 ways to Sunday for most of the last 24 years. Obvious offsides, proper officiating call, but even WITH the call, Mahomes had 3 more plays to go 15 yards and get the first. All four of our starting QBs this season have done something like that. He had plenty of time and timeouts to drive down and at worst get into FG range which is usually no problem for him. So…rather than be his usual self and do that, he whines for 3 plays?? Unreal. Besides, the TD play was 1) cool but VERY unlikely to succeed, statistically and 2) wouldve given Buffalo a chance for a drive of their own! This is a whole lot of unnecessary crying in my opinion.

The defender was trying to tackle him in bounds so the clock keeps running. If the league is ok with being tackled in bounds. Then there is a major problem. Also what happened to the on step rule. And no one can rightfully and truthfully say he was out of bounds. The Chiefs were given the last two games of the year last year. The AFC and Super bowl game, by the refs or the league. I am in belief that it is coming from the league. Wanting him to be the poster boy for the league. After the outrage in the Jets game this year. The NFL will not be on my tv the rest of the year. And no i am not a Jets fan at all. I am a thru and thru Dolphins fan. But the calls in that game did me in. Not saying the Jets would have won. But the calls made in the game made sure the Jets had no chance of getting the ball back. Then the icing on the cake. The ref coming up talking to Mhomes. When i seen that i called out the next play and penalty coming. Now if i can sit on a couch and call a penalty on the very next play and what the penalty will be. That is not right. And the push back from fans after that game. Then the late hit on him when HE WAS NOT OUT OF BOUNDS. Seems the league senses things and now the Chiefs arent getting every single call in every single game. But the playoffs will tell the story. Will they be given the AFC and Super Bowl again.
