Patrick Leonard - At Close Range *1986* [FULL SOUNDTRACK]
Музыка
[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/OST] Here is the SUPER RARE, HARD TO FIND, UNRELEASED Soundtrack score for the film: "At Close Range" by Patrick Leonard. I know fans of the film (including die hard fans of Madonna) have searched for YEARS trying to find this score and I am glad to announce that I have uncovered it. Leonard's scores for the film were never released to the public and that is a real shame because there is a lot of great synthesizer work put into it. People have also tried contacting huge labels for a release of the score but still to this day there hasn't been an official release. One source stated: "I realized how much great score material by Patrick Leonard is in the film, it's not just the Live To Tell theme by Madonna, but also some dynamite action/tension material among other things." At the very least a suite was released of the main theme (which I have included as a bonus track) but that's pretty much about it. The film stars Sean Penn, Mary Stuart Masterson, Christopher Walken, and Chris Penn and it is based off of a true story about a real life rural Pennsylvania crime family led by Bruce Johnston, Sr. which operated during the 1960s and 1970s. For "Live To Tell", Madonna wrote all the lyrics and some melodies, and co-produced it with Leonard. The song was released as the lead single from True Blue on March 26, 1986 by Sire Records. Though the OST of the film has been the gem that everyone has been searching for so I am happy to upload it and finally end this endless search once and for all. This complete OST soundtrack score is unreleased and has no distribution label '86.
Btw, apologies but I personally removed Madonna's "Live To Tell" song due to copyright, the version on this album is the same version that can be found on her "True Blue" album, you can listen to it through this link: • Live To Tell
Speaking of Madonna, I like to think that Leonard was the mastermind for a lot of her top hits back in the 80's, here is an interview with him from 2001 about "Live To Tell": • Video as well as an EXCELLENT 2018 follow up interview of how he got hired to score the music for the film: • Patrick Leonard - Live...
(Also, I thought you should know but I just realized that I uploaded this on Sean Penn's birthday; to be honest I had no idea, haha.)

My dad was like the father. At times we were afraid of him. Now that he’s old, I’m not afraid anymore
the sad fact about this movie is it all happened, having lived in Chads Ford PA between 1976 and 78 and frequently traveling Route 100 and partying around that area where many where of the murders occurred it wouldn't surprise me if i unknowingly crossed paths with the Johnston's . the real victim was Robin Marie Miller, she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I recently made a trip to her grave site to lay flowers down, it was quite emotional to be honest,

If there is a finer, more mesmerizing & beautifully haunting soundtrack than I have yet to here it, as the music, instrumental as most of it is, is very key at moving the various scenes along while depicting their emotional depth, power & solemn poignancy, as this gem of a classic is helped in no small measure by all the sad, ominously revealing, deeply touching, powerfully reflective & soulful music, just unforgettable! This movie is one of my favorites, virtually the whole cast was sterling in their respective performances (both Sean Penn & Christopher Walken deserved Oscars for giving such searing & riveting portrayals!), & the soundtrack was amazing in its haunting, generally somber effect!

How how HOW did you unearth this?! Been searching for this forever and the closest I got was the “Best Of Hemdale” compilation CD. Amazing presentation, thank you for preserving this underrated gem of a score!!!
Thanks a million for posting this. I've waited forever to hear this in full I hoping a official release will one day be made available
they dont make them like this anymore.

ohhhhhh i’m so glad you have this posted!! i listen to this and sink right into it. i’ve followed the story since the movie came out in the eighties, i’ve been up there sight seeing and i have the book on the johnston gang. it’s such a sad story but this soundtrack makes me feel like i lived it. thank you.
Thank you for sharing this, love your channel!
"At Night (Break In)" is such a jam.
Thanks a lot for all the effort you put im this Masterpiece!! I owe you a big big Beer for that!!
This is amazing!!
I finally got some decent earbuds and WOW!! I get lost in several emotions as I remember the movie it was written for. I love hearing Madonna sing the lyrics, but THIS is all images + twisting of sounds. What a movie, what a album, the music is so beautiful! Haunting!!
Oh my... I just discovered this. Thank you so much for sharing! Pat Leonard is a magician... ❤️
Omg!!! I LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!!! THANK YOU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH for uploading this!!! It has been YEARS on top of YEARS trying to find somewhere this may be hiding!! You are DA MAN!!
LOVE the Intro
I think Madonna had an uncredited appearance in this movie, when Brad hitchhikes to Terri's house and gets dropped off by a pickup, the driver looks exactly like her!

Its really her?

@@matricha69 I'm convinced it is her, watched this scene so many times! Also Penn and Madonna were either married or dating when ACR was filmed so it's the kind of thing they might do. Also director James Foley had a minor acting role, something to do with when Brad jr. was in prison I think

Been waiting a long time for this. Thank you.
