Kielty will do fantastic.

The only issue I have with Patrick Kielty is the the fact he has do the Late Late on a Friday night and then straight to London for his Radio 5 Live show on Saturday morning. Couldn’t he do his 5 Live show at the BBC’s Belfast studios instead?

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Limousine to airport, first class flight, limousine to studio and 5 star hotel room... I am sure he will be fine.

The problem with Patrick is hes a nordie which dosn always go down well down south. I thought RTE would go for the usual liberal lefty RTE type.

Question is how popular is the late late show now anyway dont think it is certainly among the young and middle age and old myself and most of my frieds friends and myself included haven't watched it in years.

For us in the north this is a proud day. We often get overlooked in terms of Irishness as tho southerners are true Irish people, but we are every bit as much Irish as those in the south. Partition didn’t remove our Irish identity.

Could he not have got a job on The View or replaced Nolan? How much of your taxes goes to the Irish Government? Irish people are not southerners, we are simply Irish. We contribute to our country through taxes. Everyone born on the island of Ireland are Irish, whether you were born in Dublin or the Shankill. But someone born In Northern Ireland has nothing to do with the country Ireland, just as someone born in the country of Ireland has nothing to do with Northern Ireland. These are two separate and distinct jurisdictions.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@davidpryle3935as someone who was born and lived in Ireland all of my life, I have nothing to do with Northern Ireland and, whether ppl like it or not, ppl who were born and live in Northern Ireland have nothing to do with Ireland, they are the basic facts. Currency, taxes, voting, et al, these are all key factors which differentiates the two States. Are these key factors ignoring history and reality? Rightly or wrongly, partition happened. It has been in place for 100+ years and it is likely to be in place for the foreseeable future. Northern Ireland remains part of the U.K., Ireland does not. Two separate States. Not sure why some people still find this confusing.

Guys, just pointing out. RTE had to go for somebody living outside the country because everybody in Ireland refused the job. He didn't know the gossip. Ryan knew he had to go... They should be ashamed of what they did to P Kielty... He was sold a pup as we say in Ireland.

Was there no Irish man or woman that could have done the job? I suppose you do get used to subtitles eventually.

Does it matter if he is disconnected or not? He is presenting a bland chat show; not running the country.

Really bland and so so fake . You could hear tubridy with hiis put on voice . It wont matter who they get . rte will tell him how to speak . Tv is ruined . Not impressed by these at alll . Bring back Dustin the Turkey . Turkey one to Turkey 2 . Tubbyridy got the job only because his Grandfather or Great Grand father was in rte when it started

Don't have a television and even when living in family home hardly ever looked at Late Late Show. Chat shows waste of time generally!!!

I dont know anybody who watches this 2hrs of nonsense. I saw Bannon promoting his new series and the same rubbish as he spewed 10 yrs ago..... Take it off air......
