Modest Mouse is one of the most important independent bands of the 90s and instrumental to the emo post grunge movement. And Lonesome Crowded West is a certified classic. There's absolutely nothing wrong with loving them.

Isaac Brock’s lyrics make me think more than anyone else’s. He has such a unique way of communicating these deep, emotional messages in a beautiful, melodic way. Life Like Weeds is another gem from Modest Mouse

One of their songs that I like is The Good Times Are Killing Me.

Never thought I'd see Modest Mouse on this reaction channel but I'm hella here for it. I was obsessed with them back in highschool and college.

MM have a literal lifetime of songs, all of them meaningful and unique in their sound. I guess what I'm saying is that if you upload a Modest Mouse reaction, I'll eventually find it (no thanks to KZread's algorithm) and watch it.

How did I miss this!? I watch almost all of your videos, and I love Modest Mouse. Would love to see you react to more of them. I know you won't get many views on them, but the people that rock with Modest Mouse, REALLY rock with them

One of the greatest bands never reacted to. Float on and Dashboard were both hits. A personal favorite is Satin in a Coffin.

I love this song... There's people lost for horrible reasons who come to mind each time I hear it

I used to listen to these guys all the time in college. I'd get home drunk from the bar and get lost in the lyrics.

Man, my brother loved this song.

you're really onto something with the hits on treating things beneath us better than each other. I'm still too young and impatient to really get "carrying in" the salty ocean's breath but that feels like the point. like the only thing I'm capable of caring for right now is myself, no matter what acts of charity I may or may not pretend to participate in. like the mom in that video, caring for her son only to the extent of not failing him. not failing herself, as a mother. and missing an important moment for her son as a result. you do some solid analysis on this channel, I bet you could get a blurb or two out of each video to promote your content on Shorts because the algorithm has clearly shifted over to that side of the website.

Good band Very unique sound I had 2 of their albums and listened to the fuck outta them. There are more hits but nothing hype, really. More thought provoking introspective type stuff

This is early 2000's indie rock (the era of bands like The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie, Arcade Fire, and so on). I had this album. It was post-college for me and I was big into this music scene. While some of the music of this era is self-indulgent/self-important, there was some fun stuff happening around that time. This was right around the time The Killers broke big, and if you've never checked them out, I'd HIGHLY recommend it. They were a band from this time that just got better with every release.
