Enjoying the content Scott. I have been putting a few comments on Facebook about them but am now catching up here. Glad to see the viewer figures are high as well. I do like the fact that there are some empty rooms. I think this feels real to me having played so many RPGs. It is actually quite hard to roll this many bit knowing your dice curse I'm not surprised! Lol

I know that I am finding this playthru 10 months too late, but this looks so fun. 10:20 to 18:09 I would interpret that as Bjorn is in the dark and therefore cannot see very far ahead as he adventures. When he finally reaches the large room he finds that the corridors he saw moments ago were actually large pillars at the south end of the large room. I think I would redesign a bit to reflect this, the fact that it is a fountain room plays well with this design. I think one other adaptation that would be good would be to have the size of the dungeon (30x20) be somewhat fluid, where room sizes at the fluid border would bump out into the fluid area and represent the extent of the overall border in that direction.

Thanks for watching... 10 months late, but still welcome hahahaha 🤣.Nice thoughts on having a fluid border, may have to use that as a House Rule next time I play!!

Whoa... That's too good for an offering! I did check and chains are usually forged... Much better choice! 😁

Alternatively, since you can't use enemy weapons/armor, I've used their forged weapons as offerings (leather, cloth, teeth, blood etc). Also I read the enemy descriptions carefully as sometimes like in the jailor room, chain is mentioned both in the cell and wrapped around his fist so potentially chain x2 to be collected.

I love what you did with room 5. This is exactly how I would have done it. But you gotta love the lack of luck when rolling for content!

Hey. I have dice that roll 1s a lot. But I found that if i foll onto a piece of cloth that allows the dice to grip (and bounce?) the rolls are more balanced. My hard table surface seems to cause roll issues.

Many thanks!! Hmmm I could fill some bottles with water, but they would then occupy Potion slots and I only have 5 in total... maybe I'll fill a couple just in case, until I find actual Potions. Cheers for the suggestion! 😁

This is a good point Peter. It could be used for potion bombs and does not take up a potion slot when it is just water. :-)

48:41 The room specifies Reinforced Doors (plural). So, how do the rules work exactly here? I mean are you inside the room yet when you are rolling the type, contents, doors, etc? Seems to me that it is a jail cell so would have Reinforced and possibly Locked doors on either/both ends. Also, asking for a friend with OCD, when you do a corridor... say 5x1 and have 2 exits and you decide to put an exit on the end, can you add the square there as well, like you do other exits along the corridor. So it would then be a 6x1, kind of. Not sure why it makes my 'friend' cringe. (LOL) Loving the series by the way, and the rules mechanics. Do wish it stimulated a little bit of RP though. You don't have to 'rush' the empty rooms. I like that there are a high number of empty rooms, gives the game a bit of an old style RP vibe.

HI, many thanks for the questions and comment!! First off, you are totally able to add RP into your games if you want to. In fact on one of the character sheets you have a space for Narrative Moments (Journalling) which could work very well with RP elements you want to include. Next, regarding the doors for the rooms, I think the game assumes you need access to the room to determine what is inside, thus only the 'exits' will be the door type for the room type. I think this was done purely to simplify things, but again, as a solo game, I would say adapt to your own wishes. I can see the question regarding why one door/extrance is different. If you want the entrance to be the generated certain door type as well go ahead!! Lastly, regarding the corridors, I would say don't add to the length unless you can justify it. In this session I extended the corridors to make future placement easier. The one space elements I add to rooms and corridors is purely for aesthetic purposes, so rooms and corridors aren't so close to each other. 😁

@@IthaquasBane thanks for the response. I really do love the video and the mechanics seem spot on for a solo game, I guess - even with journaling, it feels more of a random solo board game vs a random solo rpg. Maybe I am wrong, but as you say, it appears adaptable and there are tons of RP injectors out there. I'm look forward to the next episode!

@@risusrules "it feels more of a random solo board game" - most of the solo dungeon crawlers are like this (D100 Dungeon, Four Against Darkness, NoteQuest, the Micro-RPG series...) For a real solo RPG experience, more loosely-interpreted, improvisational oracles are needed (as found in Ironsworn, or Scarlet Heroes, or add-on tools like the Mythic GM Emulator or One Page Solo Engine.)
