    Plants look good. I'm having a similar problem with mine. It just slowed growth to a couple inches a day at day 30. Not what I'm use to but hopefully a new learning experience. I'm going to do a tissue test and see if it's a nutrient imbalance or a possible disease. Let us know if you find anything out about your slow grower. Keep up the good work.

    I will let you know for sure as I have just sent out a tissue test so we’ll see what those results are when they are complete with the testing.

    Thanks….I’ll definitely check it out….Being on a new property I’ve gotten hit with lots of fun and interesting firsts…. In six years of growing I have literally never had an aphid on any of my plants….. But I never had a foamer until this year either.🤦‍♂️

    I will do giveaways at the end of the season and then there will be an auction to help support some clubs that you can attain some awesome seeds…. Also hit me up over the winter if I have a surplus of some seeds I can definitely give some away!!

    should the male flowers be clipped off while there small as there not needed now? im assuming they take energy?

  • @GardenofGiants

    Yes I always clip all the male flowers off on the first 5 to 6 feet of the plant and the 1st foot or so on the Secondaries up until about five or 6 feet… then I allow the flowers to start growing during the pollination phase of growing and then if you have the time and energy you can start cutting all the flowers off again after you pollinate and have your chosen one.

    Random question, growing giant carrots if it grows a flower head, i need to remove it right?

  • @GardenofGiants

    @GardenofGiants

    11 ай бұрын

    If you have a flowerhead you have to harvest it or else that seed head will take the energy and make the carrot smaller, you can try to clip them off and some people say it will help but your carrot will more than likely not get any bigger it will just keep it from shrinking

    If you're having good daily growth on the fruit, how long should you let secondaries grow? I'm running out of room.

    I think by the time your fruit gets today 40 you should pretty much be done with new growth…. If you wanted to leave a main vine growing and maybe a secondary or two or a tertiary or two going that would be fine
