Go to your local mulch store get you some "aged pine bark fines"they'll lower your pH and also help aerate your soil adding minerals back in it

That’s a good idea however in this part of the country we don’t have much pine bark.

Do nutrients from secondaries ahead of the pumpkin contribute to its growth? Or is there only one-way flow for nutrients?

Most growers will tell you yes but a very small amount like 10 percent or less. I cut the main off at the pumpkin because of how easy it is to grow one without the rest of the main. I personally don’t think the main after the pumpkin adds much benefit.

You refer to your plants using 3 or 4 digit number. What do those numbers mean?

When I say a number and a name that this the weight of the pumpkin that she seed I planted came out of and the name is the last name of the grower who grew it. The 3 plants are 2356 Mendi, 2183 Mendi and the 1686 Stelts.
