Yo Kobe wanted Shaq to do this, and then Shaq went to the one team that would make him do this and he won 🤯. Actually mind shattering, actually a whole nother level to the story. Makes me think if Shaq was doing this in LA, no way Ben Wallace and Detroit beat them.

Losing that series had nothing to do with Shaq's weight and conditioning. It was team chemistry, Karl Malone got hurt, and the Pistons just outplayed them

@shawncain882 true.. but shaq was missing games due to his weight which caused alot of his low body injuries... imagine if shaq was always in shape during his Lakers tenure

@edwardfisher9930 , His body could have broken down due to long playoff runs, which cause him to play a lot of extra games. It's an overgeneralization to say weight and conditioning was the primary cause of Shaq's injuries in his Lakers years. He was 300+ pounds and played with a lot of force and power, and that takes a toll on your body, regardless of how good of shape you're in

Being a millionaire doesn't make you disciplined. Add the millions on top and they can OVER-INDULGE in their vices. That's easier said than done. Shit, I went from making like 21k a year to 60k a year within two years and .... listen, let's just say I had to catch myself because I indulged. Imagine millions.

I've witnessed NBA work-outs. I guarantee your job isn't as mentally/physically taxing by a long shot. Then we're adding on that these are PAT RILEY workouts which are notoriously grueling, even by pro-standards. Shit, I remember my cousin playing at a small D-1 college and his first week, he cried everyday to come back home.

All that talent? Tf are you talking about. They've been in 2 of the last 5 NBA Finals with borderline D-League talent outside Jimmy, Bam, Herro, and a couple other dudes. The way that they developed Gabe and Strus and Dunc and Highsmith etc. Beating Giannis and them beating Boston teams with way more talent. It's a testament to how well that organization is run. But this is the NBA you need super talent and that's why they haven't been able to get over the hump.
