Pat Metheny Group - To the End of the World (Live)

Музыка

We Live Here is an album by the Pat Metheny Group, released in 1995 by Geffen Records. The album eschews the Group's Brazilian-tinged jazz for downtempo and world music, incorporating a slick modern sound coupled with drum loops and sampling. This album shows a high level of collaboration between Lyle Mays and Pat Metheny having composed almost all the songs together.

    I must tell it like it is. I have many favorite songs from many different Genres, It is my humble opinion that this song, "To the End of the World" is the most beautiful, soul-soothing, radiant, fascinating, exquisite, alluring, fascinating, delightful music I have ever heard of all the music anywhere in all of my life. Absolutely beautiful and soothing to my heart and soul, a piece that represents the ultimate love in Love. Lyle Mays, Pat Metheny, The Pat Metheny Group and God himself could create a song so beautiful. Magnificent! Magnificent! Magnificent!

    'Yes to the end' takes you somewhere in time that's why I keep this in my Spotify group, I do an awful lot of things with this one piece, I've found out that two can also dance to it, yes it can be a Fred astaire & ginger rodgers thing too if you want it to be. Last you could just hold your partner and just execute a romantic two step for two, three maybe four minutes , stop, rest, retire or pour some glasses of wine with some rocks. I would look into the eyes of my dancing partner if it were me leading the dance.

    I might be totally wrong, but given this is one of my favorite Pat Metheny Group song's I can safely say that Pat's solo is a solid representation of the cries and suffering of humanity and the hope of a better world in the future. Lyle's brilliant solo represents all of the different phases and cultures we have gone through as a human race and at the end when the band abruptly stops, the lights and other animations mimic what I believe is a hydrogen bomb going off, but to that end, thanks to our great Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, life goes on and humanity will be saved! So well titled is this song "To the End of the World"

  • @pt008

    @pt008

    You had me until you went and dragged Jesus into it... if god is so great, why are there cries and suffering of humanity in the first place? Because of what man did, even though it knew exactly what man would do? So if I don't find your fairy tale savior (who is still the universe's reigning champion of Hide-And-Seek) I'm not going to get saved from the cries and suffering that it is serving up? What a strange way to give love. It actually sounds like kind of an abusive relationship to me. You're probably not a dumb person, but you've been indoctrinated into some really dumb ideas. Take some time to REALLY think about what you believe and honestly assess if it makes any sense. It's OK to just say "I don't know" and move on.

    So astute and perceptive. It’s a cry from the abyss, yearning without knowing why it’s yearning, chasing without knowing what it is chasing or what for, all the while, it’s efforts nullified and it’s storehouse spoiled - though the moral capacity to see why is dead and as such, it is destined to chase…all is vanity, futility and chasing the wind. Jesus is the only way

    It’s hard to describe Metheny’s music, because it’s happening on so many levels; as if in 5 dimensions. The ingenuity, and creativity never ceases to amaze. He captures the essence of human emotion along the way; all the while making technically elegant music. It’s in the musical DNA of everything he does. The genius of these musicians is really thrilling to experience. Fortunately it’s “here to stay”.

    Thank you Pat for enriching my life wit your music. It supported me, pushed me, warmed me and still gives me visions. Once - in the 90s - I had the honor to join your concert in Hamburg/Stadtpark - I still remember the atmosphere, the once-in-a-lifetime-excitement - once again, Thank you
