The first time I heard this amazing music was the 12th of February. 1989. I got the album "Travels" for my 30th birthday by Grete Pedersen (today conductor of the Norwegian Soloist choir). A late August night, 6 months later, alone at home, I moved my speakers and my best chair into the garden. In the middle of the night, moonlight, silhouettes of big pines against the sky, the grasshoppers played in the neighbor's bush. I played "Farmer's Trust" over and over again. Path Metheny; - Thank you, - You gave me an everlasting experience ....

@Marcelo Bonelli, Jopek was fantastic. Aznar's vocal treatment has always been more restrained and instrumental. Absolutely beautiful, but totally different from Anna's performance. Funny enough, I feel that the second half of this rendition fell to shait when Pat began his solo, I thought it was disharmonious with the piece up to that point. Also, I looked up the Tokyo recording, and found it too abstracted, especially in the keyboard solos as well as Metheny's, and Aznar's vocals were drowned out. There are far better live examples with Aznar performing this song. It's fine to have your opinion, but to dismiss Jopek's performance for not sounding more like Pedro's is ridiculous.

I've loved this song since it came out in 1982 and even wove it into a story that I wrote a few years later. This arrangement is particularly exotic and top-notch.

Pat is a great player and always has the best musicians behind him..Anna's voice brings a different flavor to a very familiar tune.. this song is always refreshing with different vocalist and that is what makes this a favourite of mine...sweet
