This is the first time I could see myself using all the special shades and is very appealing to people who want an approachable neutral palette. I feel PMG collectors forget the brand needs mass appeal to consumers not just colour. I do wish the plum matte was a neutral brown or even a navy matte to go with the blue brown shade. Love your looks and I always wait for your reviews before purchasing.

I do agree that even though a lot of people want those bright colors ( which i think she should come out with, even if she doesn’t order that many palettes), most people wear a very neutral, basic, every day shadows and I think a palette like this will sell better because more people can use it!!

Dunno if you purchased it, but the plum shade is actually less saturated than it looks on photos. When it gets mixed with metallics they also “tame” it down and actually turn it into sort of purple or mauve that is very wearable. I was so surprised how much more wearable mates turned out to be than they look. especially on my weird skin tone, where deeper mates get too much very quickly. Very pretty, interesting and *wearable* palette

I have to emphasize that I own the majority of the Mothership palettes and do enjoy using them. This particular palette is nothing extremely exciting “to me”. And especially at the high price points of her Motherships. I have an extensive collection of shadows and many singles from Indie brands. I’m sure I can dupe the majority of these shades. And get the same looks. If I really wanted this palette, I would wait for a sale. I do not think it is worth the price especially with the escalating high prices of Necessary day to day needs. Sometimes we have to put things in perspective. This is a splurge product and We All need to make sure we are not overextending our Wallets. Love your channel and your wonderful eye looks. 🤗❤️

I completely see your point and I think a lot of people feel the same way about this palette! I think for me the I will probably get the most use out of this palette since the colors are my kind of colors!! I also am loving the blitz the most out of all her other palettes because they are wearable! However like you said, if you have lots of Pat McGrath palette this would not be something different and worth the money!

Love the looks you created! Beautiful! I saw on a tutorial- do not rub the special shades- gently pat on the shadow and touch on the eye and build up that way but do not rub the shadow as that is what creates the crumble and subsequent fallout. Perhaps you can try it! Keep up the good work!

Thnks you so much for demoing 3 (4??) different looks. Seeing what you come up with using 3-4 shades is so much more approachable and helpful than seeing someone try to use every single shade in one look. I’m with you, this might me by favorite PML palette! I wasn’t impressed when I saw the initial filtered video of the palette on her IG, but it’s so much better in person.

Honestly Pat Mcgrath sometimes has 30% off and that is a better deal than the Sephora sale, so I would keep an eye on that!!

I love this palette and it’s my second PM mothership, after Divine rose 1, they pair nicely together. The two rosy tones are distinctly different undertones. I like both and can see using them paired with the charcoal matte gray and any number of metallics. I found a quad that pairs well with both. Plummy rosy tones and there’s a metallic in every shade, silver gold bronze and platinum. Simply stunning!!! Thanks 😊

I honestly think this one is the most wearable and I think you’re gonna get your money’s worth because you can use every single color on a daily basis!

The looks you created are so stunning and I’m so excited to recreate! When I first saw this palette it absolutely made me smile and I immediately knew I would be buying it right away. I always enjoy the looks you create. They give a much more friendly way of approaching a palette. I look forward to the motherships each year. I’m happy to keep building my collection. This is a similar colour story to the Natasha Denona star pallette but with all the excess you get (that I love) with PML. This is also kind of in the Charlotte Tilbury colour scheme of things. She is making for the masses and I prefer her quality above all else.

@@TaniaBWells well my thoughts so far..but I’ve only used it twice. The pinky burgundy color did not blend well at all I tried different brushes but it’s definitely very pigmented. I love the taupe sparkle. Sorry I tossed my beautiful box so I have not idea what the names were. Lol. I wish she would incorporate the names somehow on the pallet itself. I love The special shades and wet a sponge end brush from Huda Beauty with fix plus and that makes them work perfect. If this sponge Huda brush is still available you should definitely buy it. I have 3 of them. One end is a tiny sponge and the other end is rubber and I think that’s for mixing. I’m not for sure though. My thoughts. 💖💄👄

Seriously you came out with the best looks that I've seen on YT.. looks that I actually love and find extremely wearable. THis is the first time that I feel like maybe getting this palette 😅... you ruined my non makup spending record for this month.

Wow wow wow 🤩 the looks you created were absolutely stunning!!! That first look and the last were my faves. This is so much nicer than what Pat McGrath was sneaking to us, I wish their pictures/videos weren’t so edited. It might just be me but this looks like a more mature/elevated Huda rose quartz palette, what do you think? It gives off similar vibes to me, and I love that! I think you are right it does remind me a little bit of the huda one. This is a bit more cool tone and maybe grey.. rather than pink/mauve. The huda reminds me a lot of purple pinks even though they’re cool town but this does not have much pink in it except that one matte shade!

Will hold out for a crazy sale, since I have all the other Motherships. I do love all the cool tones.

I've never purchased a 10 pan palette from PM even though I find them so very beautiful (the other I'm interested in is the first one, Subliminal). I think Moonlit Seduction is the one I'm going to go for as it has a lot of shades I would actually use. I'm not a fan of very warm shades (including very yellow/orange golds). For Mothership X, I was expecting special packaging, like a moonlit color case not just regular black. Or a more unique color story, not repeated matte and shimmer shades. Disappointed as a PML addict, your beautiful looks make it seem all worth it!

I agree with what you said at the beginning. Especially, going from the name, it would have been great to see a majority of cool toned shades in the palette. I know atleast one warm shade would have been necessary - looking from a consumers point. Warm shades appeal to the masses. Would also have been great to have had NO pinks and gold! Really redundant and as a consumer, it feels as if I'm paying high buck for just the special shades.

All the looks are amazing!!!! You are an amazing artist. I am Asian with hooded eyes and normally cannot see shadows when my eyes are open. Thoughts on how to make looks like this for hooded eyes?

Try to bring the colors higher than your hood. Mostly the sparkle shades! Pat them higher and it should show up! I know there are lots of youtube tutorial that are on Asian eyes! I am wanting to bring some people on my channel that have different types of eyes so I can show different techniques!!

I'm still holding out for an all matte palette 😉. Very selfishly, because my crinkly eyelids don't suit shimmers and spending $127 on three mattes is not happening. I love the looks you created and wish I could use these shadows 😍😍 Love ya loads ❣🤍❣

Yeah I completely understand that. I do like Pat McGrath mattes, but honestly I prefer Natasha Denona ones, or even CT ones!

Hey Tania, a little off topic but do you still use and like the cle de peau concealer? If not, what are some you like better for under eyes? TIA💜.

YES!! It is still my go to! That one and the Huda new concealer!! Those are the only two concealers I used this month!!

I have all of the motherships and I wasn't sure about this one when I first saw it (the PML palette and swatch photos are always terrible) but I think this could be my favourite..I lean far more towards cool toned looks. People always whinge when PM releases a new palette initially... she obviously has a aesthetic she is partial to and will always lean towards. Normal lighting and lack of gold sequin backgrounds is much more flattering to the colour story as with all her palettes

YES!! I do think she needs to stop filtering all her pictures so much.. including her work! It is always so so hard to see the colors and textures when everything is so filtered!!

Tania, how does the texture(crumbly nature) of the special shades compare to Huetopian dream special shades? Please let me know.

I think one of them seems to have that crumbly texture but the other ones are a bit harder pressed.. or dare I say creamier and have less fall out, but that duo chrome color has the most fall out!

I’d like to try a PML eyeshadow pallet but I just can’t justify the cost. I may try and get one when they go on sale.

Got a Q: what are your most long lasting Matte types of lipsticks and liners?

Hmm.. Pat McGrath Lip liners are so so long lasting, the Refy lip sculpt is amazing!!! Also the l’oreal infallible ( i think ) are so incredible!! Lipsticks.. i would say the rare beauty Souffle are very long lasting, the chanel ultra wear ( the one that has both sides), the bite beauty lipsticks are amazing ( on sale now), the lisa eldridge are very long lasting. Also the Makeup By Mario liquid lipstick ( kind of reminds me of the Rare Beauty ones ).
