Wow ! Maria was the queen of clay from 2012-2013-2014. Winning all the warm up tournaments as well 🙌

9:50 2017 was amazing, Ostapenko was a force of nature in that tournament, the way she turned that match around, the way she hit the ball like there was no tomorrow, really good final.

Agreed. I don’t like Ostapenko, but boy can she smash a ball. So much effortless power there. Shame she can’t control it anymore

Final Rg 2014 between Maria and Simona is the best match of the past decade, in second place is the final between Simona and Elena.

2011 she is semifinalist. 2012 she lifted the trophy. 2013 finalist again then 2014 lifted the trophy again. 2015 she lost in QF stage. She's good in clay court though. 3 times Stuggart champ, 3 times Rome open champ and 1 title at mutua Madrid open.

It's easy to forget how dominating Serena and Sharapova were at the French Open between 2012-2016. Really goes to show how weak the WTA is when it comes to clay court players these days, because those two are not natural clay courters by any means. Their games and competitiveness were good enough to transfer onto the clay and win titles, however I can't help but feel they wouldn't have been as successful if they had better competition on the surface? Not trying to take away from their victories of course, just an observation.

Amazing how Schiavone lost in 2011 with exactly the same score she won with just a year before

You cannot deny the fact that Halep is the best clay court player at this moment. And I wish her at least other 2 RG titles before retirement.

Just her forehand really. From what I remember she always had to tinker with that shot because of shoulder issues.

Tennis is much more competitive now, defending titles is a lot harder these days. Only Serena was good at it. Defending us open twice!
