I am this day years old when I learned what past perfect's is supposed to be. I always used it as a 'cool' version of simple past. Thank you for enlightening me on this :)

Respected Ma'am, being the greatest grammarian of this generation, you are earnestly entreated with folded to let me know which of the following sentences is correct --(A) It had been raining all night (B)It rained all night.

Hi, I’m a student too, I think that in the first sentence you are still in the night, it’s like (--raining all night-) ------you--- In the second sentence, it’s just the past: (--rained all night--) --------------you

I know that in past perfect two action hapen one before another but what i want to know which of them in in past perfect and which of them in the past also what i knkw that always after before we use past simple is it right and thanks fur explanation
You make it easy but a foreign student needs to practice a lot to learn the present and past perfect.
Hello Ms. Aga: what is the difference between two questions - What did you do yesterday? - What were you doing yesterday? Can I use it interchangeable? Could you explain them for me how and when to use them? Thank you.
@samnangoeurn7026

- What did you do yesterday day? + Is talking about the events or situations in the past that completely finished. - What were you doing yesterday? + It shows us that this question is asking for the answer which relates to the past events that were happening nom stop nor have not finished in thes past.

Thank you Aga from Ameen❤❤❤

Sorry, I am confused. All the videos I saw and websites I visited say that we can use the past perfect even when the word before or after is present in a sentence. can you explain this please. Thanks a lot.
Thanks you so much i understand but i still have problem i mean that in past perfect WE have two action one happen first in past simple and thé second happen in past perfect IS it right but you Make me confuse in thé examples of that had forgotten to but bread it IS this thé first action and thé second IS i didn't Make a sandwich this morning or vice vi
Your effort is very much appriciated. But do you mean that we can't use/ before/ or /after /with the past perfect at all ? For we have been told by a teacher /not native/to use p.p. either before BEFORE or after AFTER. Please, tell me for you are trusted.

If John Bercow, the former house speaker see this video he will quickly know that you copied the word ORDER from him. 😂
"My train had left before I got to the station." This is perfectly correct sentence. I don't get why you confuse your viewer. Of course you don't have to use past perfect in this kind of sentence but it doesn't mean that this sentence is incorrect.
I don't understand
Thanks
